EPF (plus Amanahraya, & Kumpulan Wang Persaraan) have been relentlessly selling blue chips like MBB, PBB, Sime Darby &Plant, KLK, IOI Corp, YTLCorp, Alliance, RHB, HapSeng, etc. all blue chips. What a let-down by our local institutions. They must be desperate!

YTLP,at the moment, very very very rely on ATTARAT project to boost its EPS. If not, the EPS will remain same level for coming few years.

If I not wrong guessing, the price surge last week, mainly because of the positive news I post before.

So, the final decision of the court case, will determine the stock price.

NEPCO is Jordan power company, own by government.
NEPCO debts is increasing especially these few years.
ATTARAT will cause more debt if launching, that way NEPCO bring ATTARAT to court case.

Now, NEPCO debts will transfer to government.

Re Attarat ….
Jordan’s Nationl Electric Power Company (NEPCO) which 100% owned by the Govt of Jordan owes a lot of debt. This debt is now taken over by the Govt of Jordan. The new electricity tariff to consumers that take effect as of April 1 is still heavily subsidized by the Govt.
Jordan has plenty of oil shale reserves (top 5 in the world).
Obviously, Jordan should rely completely on its oil shale reserves to produce electricity, so that it does not have to import oil and its energy needs from Egypt and Israel. Attarat uses this oil shale to produce electricity. But if you don’t understand what is oil shale ….Oil shale is different than shale oil in that oil shale is essentially rock that contains a compound called kerogen, which is used to make oil. Shale oil refers to hydrocarbons that are trapped in formations of shale rock]

The agreement between NEPCO and Attarat was signed in 2014, at an estimated cost of $2.1 billion and it’s stipulated 470 (554 gross) megawatt capacity will provide 15% of the Kingdom’s electricity requirements.
Attarat Power Company (APCO) is a joint venture between China’s Guangdong Energy 45%, Malaysia’s YTL Power 45%, and Estonia’s Enefit 10%. The contract was awarded as a fixed-price turnkey Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract in 2014.
The IPP project will supply power to state-owned National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) under a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with a competitive tariff and minimum linkage to the global oil price. [Isn’t that good?]

Construction of the project’s infrastructure began in mid-2017.
The first unit (that includes an open-cast mine) went online on 26 May 2021.
NEPCO had requested arbitration, but legally, they cannot claim “grave deception” as the government and NEPCO were aware of and agreed to the set prices when they signed the agreement in 2014.
For China, it is one of Chinese largest private financed infrastructure project outside China under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and using limited recourse debt financing, securing $1.6 billion for 15 years, backed by export credit insurance from Sinosure
[I don't see Jordan messing around with China? I think YTLPower got a good powerful partner]
Attarat will be the first and largest oil shale-fired power plant in the world!
Once all the kinks are ironed out Attarat will become another big cash cow for YTLPower
Because right now with the price of Oil/Gas sky high, ........ the economics of Oil Shale mined by open-cast mining will be very bright!

In Jordan, the Aqaba Thermal Power Station is the largest power station. It has a total generation capacity of 656 MW.
The Aqaba Thermal Power Station was established in 1986 as an oil-fueled power station. It is operated by the Central Electricity Generating Company of Jordan. After construction of the Arab Gas Pipeline, the power station was switched to use natural gas [Wiki]
So you can understand why NEPCO keeps losing money if it has to subsidise buying expensive oil and gas …. time to shift to Oil shale!

A little about Eesti Energia, the 10% owner. Eesti owns Narva Power Plant in Estonia. This plant generates 95% of the total power in Estonia. Estonia joined EU and NATO in2004.
Although Oil shale plants are highly polluting, but now, who cares? With the oil and gas crunch in EU, this polluting plant is a life saver for Estonia, especially if oil and gas from Russia is cut!

After the original agreement was signed in 2014 with Eesti, nothing happened for 3 years, probably because of unable to get financing, until China and YTLPower came into the picture. Ytl Power which took an initial 30% subsequently increased its share to 45% ….. So you see YTLPower has been pumping money into long-term projects that initially produce no profits in its account sheets. Such projects are now coming into fruition.

The share price of YTL Power has been hovering around RM0.60 to RM0.75 in the past 2 years, a far cry lower

from the RM1.50-1.60 level in 2015-2016. There are a number of reasons why the share price has dropped by

half since FY2016 but I believe that it has bottomed up and is on its way to double or triple up to even move

beyond its past glory days. I believe YTL Power may be worth RM3.85 to 7.55 a share, a whopping 530% to

1,040% of its current share price of RM0.725.

YTL Power achieved positive operating cash flows (before capex and ignoring working capital changes) of

RM1,762 million for FY2021 and RM1,310 million for FY2020. Capex was high at RM1.7 billion in FY2021 and

RM1.3 billion in FY2020 due to construction costs for the Jordan power plant, hence limiting its ability of paying

dividends. As Jordan power plant is near completion, hence capex for next 2 years will be minimum unless new

projects like the solar power farm take off.

In summary, whether we analyse it based on SOP or cash flow valuation, YTL Power should be worth a lot higher
than RM0.725. With YTLPI management now also actively finding ways to increase its market capitalization so as
to raise its profile and be able to bid for big assets at any distressed sales coming soon, the interests of the
management and shareholders are aligned. YTL Power will be a multi-bagger in next 2-3 years.

It always fails to amaze me how analysts value stocks. I find them incredibly scary people!
An example is what Citibank wrote ….. August 14, 2020 …. our bull-case valuation of Top Glove is RM77.60,” ….. a target price (TP) of RM48.10 and "buy" rating for the glove manufacturer.
So in hind-sight how did Citi’s analysis pan out? Today’s price is RM1.73, so even if you x3 correcting for the 2:1 bonus issue 1.73 x 3 = RM5.19, you still have lost a tremendous amount of your investment.
Another example is 2-3 days ago …. Bill Ackman ditched his stake in Netflix Inc. after losing more than $430 million on his investment. The stock tumbled >30% in just one day. (The stock had gain >100% since the pandemic)
So what can you learn from this …. don’t buy stocks that has been inflated, despite what your analyst / smart people tell you. Best to analyse and think for yourself!

Now back to YTL Power … What are the risks for this stock?
Its all-time peak was RM3.88 back in 2007. Its low was 45s on 17th Mar 2020 at the panic of the pandemic when everyone was talking about a World Depression. If for some reason if it falls back to 45s, you lose 40%, But if it goes back to RM3.88, you gain 520%
Furthermore 26s cash proceeds from the disposal of 33.5% ElectraNet means that you are paying only 48.5s for the rest of YTLPower’s assets. This 26s gain will come into the accounts in the coming quarter/s and the PE ratio of YTLPower will be in single digits.

YTLPower is definitely not a SERBADK! What can go wrong with its many regulated business? Its dividend yield (price at 74.5s today) is 6.04%. What kind of investment pay you >6% yield? In a worse case scenario, just sit and collect dividends, better than bank interest.
The only risk I can think of is EPF selling for crumps! Actually, there is no need for the 10K withdrawal from EPF. There is no more lock-down, just go out and get a job man! This 10K is just to make good feeling because elections are coming!

KUALA LUMPUR: YTL Power International Bhd, the country's first independent power producer, has partnered with GDS Holdings Ltd to co-develop 168 megawatts (MW) of data centre capacity at the upcoming YTL Green Data Centre Park in Johor.

YTL Power's Singapore-based subsidiary YTL Data Center Holdings Pte Ltd is building the 500 MW solar-powered data centre park in Johor's Iskandar region, which will include over 535,000 square feet of purpose-built data centre space.

GDS operates high-performance data centres in China.

Both parties signed an agreement yesterday to collaborate on the development of 168MW of data centre capacity across eight individual data centre facilities at the data centre park.

Separate from the co-development with GDS, the construction of 72MW of capacity for other hyperscale customers have already begun on site.

that is how big fund exit their position without crashing the market.

but first, they have to throw some good news to retailers.

Initially I thought 664 hectare (1640 acres) Kulai Young estate was just any other solar farm / or for export to S’pore. I was wrong! What they are doing is to build a Green Data Centre Park.
275 acres of the 1640 acres is dedicated toward data center development, YTL Green Data Center Park…. Only 275 acres out of 1640 acres. What they plan for the rest of 1640 acres yet to be told.
Out of 500MW planned, 72MW of capacity has already commenced on site for other hyperscale customers.
But getting a big anchor like GDS to co-develop 168MW capacity (across 8 individual data center facilities, entering service in 2024) is really something.
That means 72+168MW = 245MW out of 500MW is already taken up in such a short span of time. Soon the whole 500MW will be taken up.

The YTL Green Data Centre will be connected by dark fibre – which offers direct, low latency network connections – to hyperscalers and enterprise clients in Singapore and other parts of Malaysia. If things turn out good, who knows, Iskandar-Singapore may became the new Silicon Valley/Data centre of Asia or maybe the new Shenzhen of Hong Kong. Even better connect right up to Penang, the global electronics manufacturing, Silicon Valley of the East.

What Are The Benefits Of Digital Banking? A digital banking license has the ability to conduct all banking businesses like traditional banks. This includes opening an account, making deposits and payments, applying for loans or debit and credit cards, etc
Singapore to have 4 digital banks with one of them being Sea, with a digital full bank licences.
YTL Digital Capital Sdn. Bhd. (“YTL Digital Capital”) was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the YTL Power on 7 May 2021, now together with SEA has a Digital Banking Licence in M’sia (announced by Bank Negara today)
So now it means that both YTLPower and partner SEA has both full digital banking licence in M’sia and S’pore. There may be synergy in them. SEA also owns e-Commerce Shopee.
Notice Boost Holdings/ Axiata, Grab/Singtel etc groups have telco in them. So YTLPower also have YES telco. Digital banking, telecommunications, e-Commerce make powerful combinations, adding to Data Centers, Green energy, etc which YTLPower is diving into.

Yes YTL Digital is 100% owned by YTLPOWR and incorporated only in 2021.

YTLPOWR is very good buy at current price. With NTA at 1.5 but price still at 70++.

A lot of future projects and growth is coming. With the sales of ELECTRA. It is way undervalued. HLIB is giving the TP of 1.05.

Don't forget about high dividend rate of 5 to 6% and special dividend for the proceeds.

In current bearish market. This is the best bet and safetest bet you can make in market.

when things go online, it will need a place to store those data.Shopee is consume lots of data storage.

If bank goes in digital mode, it require tons of storage to ensure the operation can run smoothly. Im guessing, the latest 168MW DC is purposely made for digital bank.

168MW is super super super big DC.
if this DC is reserve for digital bank, means that, Sea and YTL Digital will put very big effort to run this digital bank business.

Not like Singapore, although the digital bank license had been awarded, but all 4 license holder still no doing anything yet, its mainly because the traditional bank already serve most the Singaporeans banking need.
