The ones correlating oil price to resin price to tguan profit is first order thinking. They don’t know tguan can pass on the ASP to customers and they got good inventories management.

Thong Guan raw material cost is not correlated with oil price. Tguan raw material is LLDPE which is derived from naphtha. Please do readings.
Tguan bought quite many raw materials from LC TITAN. LC ASP is low based on QR that’s why boost the Tguan share price on Friday.

TGUAN might be able to surpass FY2020 performance in 3Q2021, they need at least RM27mil net profit in Q3 to beat FY2020. FYI Q2 net profit was RM25.56mil. Although FMCO restricted the workforce to 60% during Q3, do not forget there were a few new production lines added, and rising ASP and profit margin as seen from Q2. We might get some surprise for this coming QR.

This is just my assumption, by no means is accurate. So do your own research before making any decision.
FYI I'm holding TGUAN at an average price of RM1.46. I bought 1st parcel of TGUAN in 2013, and 2nd parcel in 2021.

Normally if their management come out news said their company revenue in up trend in future before q report out, sure this q report not attractive at all. This is their strategic to retain share holder.
