KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 2,796,638 vaccine doses of various brands stored at Health Ministry and Covid-19 storage facilities have expired as of Feb 28, says the Health Ministry.

Its minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said this comprised 3.27% of the total number of vaccine doses acquired by the Malaysian government, inclusive of contributions.

“The government is also bound by a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) set by vaccine manufacturers; specific details cannot be disclosed (to the public).

“This includes vaccine prices. Procurement costs for all vaccines have also been explained in the bipartisan Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting on Aug 2, 2021,” she said in a written reply to Wong Kah Woh (PH-Taiping) on Tuesday (March 21).

KLANG (March 26): There are no political appointments in government-linked companies (GLCs) listed on Bursa Malaysia under the unity government, said DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook.

Loke, who is also the transport minister, said in fact Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had informed him that he did not intend to appoint politicians to any such companies.

Loke clarified that most politicians appointed at present day were not involved in GLCs but were appointed to statutory bodies.

“In terms of appointment of politicians, we separate between statutory bodies and GLCs. We do not agree to put politicians in GLCs listed on Bursa Malaysia such Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).

“Those appointed now are not in such companies (GLCs) but in statutory bodies, authorities and such.

They are regulatory bodies. (They are) not involved business and such," Loke said.

He said this at a press conference after officiating the Selangor DAP State Annual Convention 2023 here on Sunday (March 26), which was also attended by Pakatan Harapan (PH) Selangor chairman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Selangor DAP chairman Gobind Singh Deo.

Loke said his ministry also retained the services of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd (Prasarana) chairman Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, who is a professional and who will not appoint politicians to the company.

"So is MAHB. There are no political appointments in MAHB. This is clear. If in the past administration, you know who was the Prasarana chairman. Now, (we know) who is Prasarana chairman.

"So there are no political appointments in key GLCs such as Prasarana, MAHB, TM and such. I am confident that the policy will continue to be maintained by YAB prime minister," he said.

He was responding to reporters' questions regarding political appointments involving PH and Umno politicians, following PH's past criticism of the matter.

Reported in News few days back, now Pharmaceutical suppliers ARE WORRIED about collecting payments from Pharm_tak_niaga????

So, there may be disprution in medical supplies NOT caused by Courier services/deliveries from Pharma_tak_niaga but ACTUALLY from Suppliers???

So much for CANNOT DO WITHOUT Pharma_tak_niag since they have ALREADY self-destructed........LOL

Seems Pharma_Tak_niaga is very very busy writing and sending emails and letters to Suppliers to pacify them and for continuous medical supplies.........

Pharma could use factoring facility to buy the medicine. But, if gov end its monopoly now, at this critical moment, Pharma will easily go bankruptcy. Like SNB in Credit Suisse, LTAT investment will turn into wall paper.

This is to ensure cheap and affordable health services and medicine is available to all Malaysians. No bangsats or kumpulan samseng and lanun should be toll collectors.

Pharma's woes seems a bag of rubbish to be tossed out. LTAT would want to throw in good money for bad results? Banker's payments of over RM900+ million due in less than 5 months.

Suppliers' worried about collections and continue supplies.........THAT'S A WHOLE LOAD TO SETTLE.

Better to R.I.P. since GLC are prone to use funds and money like their grandfather's.

If you look into Pharma's book, its profit margin not high.
It is also generic medicine producer, a part of MNMP roadmap.
Lastly, many Malaysian mis-concept that trader/dealer/distributor or common name as orang tengah will inflate price. Indeed, in many occasions in many years and many countries, it goes against the presumption.

The question is can it meet its obligation to pay creditors as it has RM802 million to settle? With only RM52 mill in cash, any schoolboy will know that a huge sum to pay is trouble ahead. Sooner, Pharma will receive a legal letter from one of the creditors.
The company, which fell to PN17 status after writing off RM552.3 million worth of Sinovac Covid-19 vaccines, had cash of RM52.85 million at end-2022. Payables stood at RM802.7 million from RM858.41 million the year before.

I'm not sure about the legality of it, but an NDA can only be signed by an individual, not a country. And any national secret can only be called a national secret only if its classified under the secrets act, so the NDA is useless, unless its only the shut KJ up

Exactly NTTT。 A contract is valid only if it is practical and executable. In the vaccine case, the ministry who signed the NDA can not overrule cabinet and parliament as well as auditor general. Therefore, it is unable to non-disclosure. It is usually signed to protect agent or broker who earn the commission. So the question is why KJ signed the NDA ? And the vaccine price is not a secret in other countries.
