Share price should move above 2.30 next few months.Below are some reasons:

CCM DuoPharma should turn in a set of improved results to be announced within the next two weeks. Expect a fairly generous final dividend soon. The company has a dividend policy of paying out 75% of net income every year. The whole year earning is assumed to be around 21 sen. the interim dividend was 3.5 sen for the 1st half of financial year. Hence the final dividend is expected to be 10 to 12 sen net of tax.

CCM DuoPharma(CCMDBIO)is a high dividend stock yielding an average of 7% net. Many people are disappointed with its share performance for the last few years and have resorted to selling them.

Chemical Company of Malaysia, a PNB owned group bought over CCMDBIO at the price of 2.80 per share in 2004. For 7 years, the share price has been trapped between 2 to 2.70

Things may be changing for the coming years due to the following factors:

(a) The company has completed most of its expansion programme such as building of new warehouse, increasing manufacturing capacity and entrance into Middle East region

(b) With the divestment of Pharmaniaga by Khazanah to Boustead, CCMDBIO may have a bigger share of Government hospital supply contract.

CCM DuoPharma has just announced the 2011 results. The earning of 19.24 sen is marginally lower than last year's 20.65 sen. However, total dividend of 18 sen (3.5 + 14.5) is higher than last year's 15.5 sen.

Going forward, earning should improve with all the expansion programs completed recently.

CCM DuoPharma could also be a potential target of take-over by international drug companies such GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) or Pfizer or any other foreign companies. In fact, there was rumours that GSK was acquiring CCM DuoPharma last year.

Foreign drug companies are interested in local drug companies because of the domestic generic drug manufacturing facilities. Foreign drug companies want to expand into local manufacturing market but it will take a long long time to obtain government licence and approval from the health authority. The quickest way is to acquire local drug companies which already possess relevant licence and approval.

Secondly, local generic drug do not have international branding which is very important for marketing particularly to overseas countries. Hence, it would be a win-win situation for local drug companies to team up with international big names.

Petracot, very good piece. Almost gave up on this counter, holding shares far too long. Higher dividend and prospects of takeover target makes me hold on now.

CCM DuoPharma is a boring defensive stock with an unwritten dividend policy of 75% payout. The earning was not affected at all even during the sub-prime crisis and the Euro debt problem.

Rain or shine, you will get a generous dividend payout every 6 months. There was one year they paid out 48 sen per share! Treat this stock as a kind of FD, and any earning surprises of take-over offer as bonuses.

If you walk past any government clinic or hospital, you will see queue after queue of patients waiting to collect their free medicines. Government spends billions every year for public health care. The queue for free medicine is going get longer each year as cost of private health care sky-rockets.

CCM DuoPharma, being a GLC, will always get a fair share of the supply contract to the government hospitals.

CCM DuoPharma holds a number "strategic" drugs for the government hospitals: anti-retroviral drugs for the treatment of HIV-infected patients; methadone for drug-addict rehabilitation; and Omiflu, a generic Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) for H1N1 infection. The company is either the exclusive or the main supplier of these drugs, which will keep the bottom line stable.

petracot, this is excellent 'insider' info on CCMDBIO's drugs arsenal, and the strategic drugs they have should put them at a highly priced level, not to mention their very generous dividend policy.

Anybody know the story regarding to this share drop to RM1.95 recently?

I do not know of the real story of the drop. However, this is my take on the scenario judging from the market movements and the fundamentals of the stock.

Someone held quite a big stake in CCMDBIO, a few hundred thousand units, for too long. As the stock price has not been moving for the last few years, they decided to dump all. The sellers might have other reasons peculiar to themselves, certainly nothing to do with CCMDBIO.

I noted another interesting thing. While the price was dropping below RM2, the chairman of CCMDBIO was buying. Another director bought into the counter when the price rebounded above RM2.

If not mistaken PNB should be relatively own this share by using CCM as cover. But the recent news have announce that some of the company under government fund will be offer to public investor,so possibly this share will become more liquid.

CCM owns about 73% of CCMDBIO. CCM is not doing well. It is possible CCM could be one of the 5 to be sell off. I am just speculating, don't believe what I say. It will be better for someone else to control CCM so that CCMDBIO can chart a new direction, including selling a substantial stake to foreign drug company such as GSK, Bayer or Pfizer. Let's wait for further announcement from the Government, it should not long, probably before election.

CCMDBIO has just released the 1Q2012 results. Earning improves from 4.27 sen to 4.83 sen per share, that is an increase of 13%. It is not impressive but decent normal growth.

According to the latest annual report, the CEO mentioned that collaboration with MNCs in producing generic drugs is one of the company' strategy in charting new growth. This information is very positive for the future prospect of CCMDBIO.

CCMDBIO – Q1 2013 Financial Report (http://www.bursamalaysia.com/market/listed-companies/company-announcements/1298933) on 27 May 2013

Analysis Report – http://lcchong.files.wordpress.com/2013/08/ccmdbio-q1-2013.pdf or more (http://lcchong.wordpress.com/knowledge-sharing/)

Although CCMDBIO is very rich with cash flow and very strong in generating cash flow from earnings, CCMDBIO loss momentum in earnings. It is less attractive as of now even if rich in cash flow. I will put CCMDBIO in Reserve List first.

In Malaysian Reserve today :
Chemical Co of Malaysia Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, CCM Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd (CCMP), signed a memorandum of understanding with India-based Cipla Ltd to evaluate the setting up of a metereddose inhaler (MDI) facility in Bangi, Selangor.

The partners aim to set up a RM60 million facility to manufacture, market, sell and distribute MDIs in Malaysia and Asean as most MDI products are imported.

“This partnership will enable both CCMP and Cipla to leverage our respective strengths and capabilities to manufacture products that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients.

“Cipla’s commitment in respiratory care and research and development expertise, coupled with CCMP’s manufacturing facility, marketing and distribution network, will place Malaysia as an export hub for the region providing quality respiratory products,” CCMP division director Leonard Ariff Abdul Shatar (picture) said in a statement last Friday.

This MDI facility, which will be the first in Asean, is expected to be commissioned by the second-quarter of 2015. The strategic alliance will help both parties tap into the MDI market in Malaysia, valued at RM95 million per annum.

Cipla is a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer that specialises in respiratory, cardiac, cancer, anti-retro virals and anti-infective medication, and has over 40 manufacturing units, 11 of which have international regulatory approvals.

CCMP produces nearly 300 generic products which include analgesics, antibacterial, antihistamines and many others, and also manufactures over-the-counter products with about 200 items under established brands.

MDI is a device that delivers a specific amount of medication to the lungs and is the most commonly used delivery system to treat asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and other respiratory diseases.

“Although respiratory disease does not sound as serious as the likes of heart disease, cancer or stroke, it can greatly affect a person’s quality of life. “Proper medication methods are important as respiratory disease can be life-threatening if left untreated,” Leonard said.

Yearly dividend now is 17.5 cents. Price now is RM3.00, meaning a dividen yield of 5.8%.
Still very attractive rate.
TP RM 3.50, still having a dividen yield of 5% , a lot much more better than FIX DEPOSIT, in addtion of good capital appreciation.
