Duopharma raja kampung only. Most income come from government contract. I don't know duopharma got such a genius person to produce the vaccine. Will find out later that vaccine professor.

Last Tuesday, news reports, quoting Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, reported that Pharmaniaga and Duopharma would undertake the fill and finish processes for the Covid-19 vaccine, once it is developed.

It was reported that Khairy said Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had agreed for the facilities of the two companies to be utilised for the purpose, noting that the main challenge for the production of the vaccine was the finishing process.

"We will be purchasing the vaccine overseas, either from China, the US or the UK, in bulk, and we will be doing the bottling process here," Khairy was quoted as saying at a press conference in Parliament on that day.

Today, Pharmaniaga acting managing director Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Rahman said in a statement that many Pharmaniaga shareholders have been keen to find out more about the company's Halal vaccine project, which includes the Covid-19 fill and finish.

"We will be making a separate announcement on this matter once we have firmed up the relevant details," Mohamed Iqbal said.

I don't think anybody here is claiming DPharma is coming up for the vaccine against Covid-19.

We're banking on the bottling and the distribution of the vaccine.

Whateverlah. Profit and loss is part and parcel of life in stock market.

Pertamina, read the article. Malaysia will be buying in bulk those vaccines, do the packaging, certified it as halal (this is very important for the muslim world), distribute them in Malaysia and potentially anywhere they are needed. Sounds like a good plan and if materialised, could further position our country at the front end in the pharmaceutical industry.

You should be happy as there are more jobs for you and your team working in DPharma instead of laying around waiting for work. Export markets were not so good recently due to lockdown, right?

Aramco, agreed with that statement from Deputy Health Minister. Notice the word "precise".

He was referring to 3rd or 4th generation of the vaccine. It is normal that vaccine is continuously improved as they collected more data and results through the use of the vaccine. At this current stage, I think Pharma/DPharma roles are to target the first generation of the vaccine.

KUALA LUMPUR: In an effort to lower the country's dependency on acquiring vaccines from other countries, Malaysia will start developing its own soon, said Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

"MOSTI, together with the Health Ministry, has been given the responsibility of preparing a plan to develop and manufacture vaccines. This will be tabled to the cabinet in the next six months.

What Malaysia is lacking is talent and expertise. If KJ is really up to it, he can employ all those vaccine scientists and bring them here. The facilities and technology can be purchased. This is all about money and how much the government want to invest in this sector. KJ and his ministry can develop local content along the way in the next 5-10 years to get the local guys like Pertamina (if he is up to it) to get into the steering wheel once those vaccine scientists are let go.

Looking at the buy q when closing, it's highly likely shoot further tmr morning. Hoping it sustain after that and have another limit up again.

The shooting patterns for pharma counters like the shooting of glove 3 months ago. So I believe the funds will switch from glove counters to pharma counter slowly fr.now onwards.

Just imagine now almost 60%-70% of funds are flow to glove sector. Once at least 20-30% of the funds switch to this sector, it will continue support this sector to shoot further.

Dont forget on and off vaccine news and new development will push the price to another level. When vaccines is out, surely this counter will shoot like no tmr. Hold tight. Good luck and cheers.

1) Dpharma & Pharma, is not a producer of vaccine but rather a middleman appoint by government to sell vaccine. So the margin of profit would be rather small. Why? because of weak currency and affordability issue. Of course government will subsidise to push to affordable price (hopefully).

2)It is not a compulsory to take a vaccine. However, it will be likely be made mandatory for travellers in and out of country. There are multiple vaccines around the world for its specific virus, but do you take all of the vaccine? Nope, you dont. You can read more about vaccines here: https://www.who.int/travel-advice/vaccines

3)Currently China is leading the speed for Vaccines (CanSinoBio), which is share by investor_AA. But only US government is implementing Operation Warp Speed due to its seriousness there. So, did Malaysia a priority? Nope, because Malaysia is one of the top 5 world best in coping with covid 19 from spreading (thanks to Dr Noh and his teams effort). Malaysia might end up as a very small market population for vaccine, which is, frequent travellers only.

I am not here to jeopardise this counter as I did enter when it is on news from KJ. After some thought of the above, I decided to exit. There is no right or wrong in share market but only profit or lose. However, do analyse further the positioning of this company and Pharma in long run. If you want to really buy into a high potential vaccine company, I suggest Inovio or Moderna (of course this is overseas trading, you need to check with your remiser). TQ.
