WD has in Pasir Gudang, PJ and PNG. The PJ is closing down and remain 500 staff support only. PJ operation all transfer to WD Thailand where cost is much cheaper.

WD >10years staff are overvalue. They pay 15%-18% employer contribution to epf and salary >5K for executive doing admin work.

SDD is the new trend due to its fast speed, less power, reliability and WD will expanding PNG plant to cater SDD growth but HDD demand will still be there because its 2/3 cheaper than SDD.

one of tech experts claim as below:

HDD still got its role and market. It will not be immediately phased out. Like superpanda said, they will coexist until the prices of SSD go lower.

HDD:
- Still being favored in backup solution/service and AI related industry due to the relative cheaper price/capacity as compared to SSD and high capacity needed.

SSD:
- More to personal electronic usage like laptop. Industry level still run on SSD (for high read/write speed)+HDD (for capacity) combination. A lot of high end server storage still use combination of SSD (low ratio of total disks)+HDD.

technology is a fast pace market. HDD might be obselete in 3 yrs time. Nosdays u can get memory card in 128gb. very soon 500gb will be very common.

the only downside is, too many shares hold from buy back, volume will be not much unless buying trend continue, retracement is possible but temporary. stop loss 1.04 if you enter 1.0.

i havent gotten the time to compare uchitec vs dufu in details. if you can do and share is welcme.

both are precision manufacturer but uchitec earnings is bigger 4x than dufu but it eps jst slightly higher.

always wonder why last year uchitec flying and dufu drop.

Uchitec stuck at low price because of a stake holder that market doesn’t like. As soon as he sold his stakes, the price shot up.

It was in my KIV list when it was 1.8. Very high ROE and profit margin. That’s one of the few missed opportunity.
