KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 17): Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) has proposed a bonus issue in the form of one warrant for every five existing shares.

In a bourse filing, the property developer said it plans to issue between 588.87 million and 693.95 million warrants on a date to be announced later. The exercise price of the warrants will also be determined later.

EcoWorld expects to raise gross proceeds of between RM606.5 million and RM714.8 million based on an indicative exercise price of RM1.03 and assuming full exercise of the warrants.

"Such proceeds if raised [as and when the new warrants are exercised], shall be utilised as working capital to fund the day-to-day operations of the group, amongst others, staff related expenses, and overheads and administrative expenses such as accounting related fees, utilities and office related costs," it said.

The exercise is expected to be completed by the first half of 2022, said EcoWorld.

EcoWorld's share price closed up 1.5 sen or 1.72% to 88.5 sen, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM2.61 billion.

@hassim05, ECOWLD management maybe learnt their lesson. Set the warrant price to high last time around. End up nobody will convert to mother share whe expiry, lose the fundraising opportunity.
This round they set the "indicative" exercise price to be (in my opinion) more realistic and should be rewarding to existing shareholders.

Pity to see the trading chart these few days, lot of "chartist" keep using chart to estimate the buying and selling point. But they don't even know their intention already being monitored by big acc traders...Those experience traders are few steps ahead of your premature chart....

I wouldn't buy Ecoworld until the next earnings. Sell on green. Company is bloated with debt and "speculators". I don't know about their growth prospects apart from more projects and grants. The risk remains since most of the insider trading happens in property stocks. No investor is fond of that, right?

I bought @0.46 after spoke to their sales office head and also few of my future neighbors who are signing spa same batch with me in May 2021, and keep until now. Nowadays many young boy call themselves trader and chartist, aim for short term trade, ended up buying high selling low. Because by relying on chart, you are part of the equation in fund house analysis.

Extracted from their latest AR "Future Revenue remains high at RM3.5 billion as at 31 October 2021 which continues to provide both
earnings visibility and cashflow certainty going forward".

Meaning to say FY22 the earnings visibility is there, barring any surprises in unexpected cost, their EPS is quite predictable.

Time to get out of property investment. New law by government to go after Tenancy deposit. It is a multi billion $$$ which Housing ministry trying get. This government is doing something that dont belong to their scope.

The proposed Residential Tenancy Act (RTA) by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will hurt the rental market, according to the Malaysian Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association acting president, Datuk NK Tong.

Tong said some proposals in the Act should be carefully reviewed and reconsidered; otherwise, the impact on the industry could be negative.

While several points in the proposed Act's Regulatory Impact Statement may be useful in resolving disputes between parties involved in residential tenancy matters, he said the association is also concerned about some of the Act's proposals.

"The unintended consequence of layering unnecessary complexity is that rents may trend upwards as landlords factor in any additional burden that they have," he said.
