Borneo was also the site of the famous Bre-X multi-billion-$ scam in '96-'97 which was essentially a liar standing next to a hole producing assays of doctored gold. Sarawak up north was the ground zero of many stockmarket scams esp Ting Pek Khiing in Ekran(suspended & delisted), Wembley & other cr@p companies. I guess scammers really do attract their own ilk! that was then

by now

Whenever I am in SG, I am part of this 77.8%, nothing wrong. So far no walking stairs, everything clean and well maintained. ‘Gym’ is just a few steps away from the natural air environment.. transportation is first notch.
I am NOT defending him; just admire his defending skill. He is just like us, half full or half empty ‘scammer’; trying to ‘share’ our knowledge. Remembering he tried to show a picture of an ‘abandoned’ Solar Field, maybe did not check that it was caused by a hurricane…benefit of doubt. Recently, I made almost the same mistake, NOT checking enough on JAG Berhad on owning JAG Capital Equity and NOT JAG Capital…to err is human. 100k in a year is not a big deal for some ppl, but at least it was part of a consistent streak that lasted months until the sharp bear move at the end of 2018. Better than ppl who make 7-figures in '20 & then losing most of it re-entering the same glove stocks when they had corrected [ I personally know a local who worked in SG & bought TopGlove timely, sold a little too early but still made $350k then re-entered @ $6-7 & whose paper loss is now greater than his realized gain]. Many made quick$ in the manic post-Covid bull move that saw a peak of 27 billion shares traded on Aug 7th but like a flash in a pan, lost it all when the speculative blowup abruptly ended. Ditto for the University students & SG celebrities who made S$500,000+ in the May-Jun '99 SESDAQ market run up only to lose it ALL & more when the shares crashed back to where they started eg Amara from 20c to 80c back to 20c by 2000. Ditto for the Archegos fiasco in '21 when Michael Hwang who was allegedly worth $10 billion at the peak saw his paper fortune vanish with a margin call initiated by GoldmanS. I remember that well because my Nomura was showing thousands in paper profit at its peak price in Feb '21 but vanished in a day & turned to losses on Monday when the Japanese broker announced a $2 bil hit from Archegos. Fortunately, I held on & this year SOLD Nomura shares significantly HIGHER than that fateful 2021 peak price on top of tens of thousands of yen dividends in the intervening 3 years.

Can YOU even maintain 100 continuous market days of trading profit, let alone the 462 days I attained in '17-'18 & the 1,003 days & counting since Jul 29 2020? 🤣 It's better to be slow, consistent & still alive than fast, BIG & then DEAD!

The best manipulator I observed in the social media to-date. The promoter wrote a thread: "Patimas - target price 30 sen." He was able to relentlessly promote this stock. It was a PN17 stock. Every so often, news appeared. Restructuring was eminent. A new project. A new shareholder, including Tencent. He was able to entice so many to buy into this stock pushing the price upwards to above 30 sen from one that was probably closer to 1 or 2 sen. He succeeded manificently. I think the major shareholders were able to unload all their shares to the new shareholders. Soon, no more promotions. No more news. The negatives started coming out. The price tanked to nil. It was delisted.

The promoter of this was the best I have observed. He did it once only and soon disappeared. He never reappear in any of the social forum I know of subsequently. He lied and was able to fool all the new shareholders ONCE. There were certainly a lot of pain ( "a lot of blood spilt on the street") as ALWAYS when a bubble collapsed.

Malaysia's 2Q24 GDP of 5.90% is a thumbs up for positive sentiment going forward with banks seen as beneficiaries of stronger economic growth. Foreign funds are now buying the larger bank stocks. Plantations remain unloved.
