Stellar Performance in Construction segment – Construction segment recorded RM72.1m revenue and RM19.9m PBT for 2QFY16 with revenue slid 31.8% qoq and 18.3% yoy. However, PBT surged 140% qoq and 195% yoy given the superior PBT margin of 27.7pts (increased by 20pts for both quarterly and yearly basis). We believe the higher PBT and lower revenue in 2QFY16 was due to higher portion of construction progress were recognized in this quarter by RAPID projects instead of KVMRT project. However, we are expecting that the superior PBT margin to trend down after the newly clinched RAPID projects, i.e. Package 0301 and package 0402 starting to contribute to construction segment as these projects are procurement, construction and commissioning (PCC) of civil & infrastructure works which have lower margin in nature as compared to the previous Earthwork in RAPID. Meanwhile, construction segment revenue down 9.8% yoy but PBT up 65.4% yoy for 1HFY16 that underpinned by higher PBT margin (increased by 7.2pts yoy).

Strong order book of RM972m - Construction order book stood at RM972m after securing another RAPID project (Package 0402) worth RM185m with a contract period of 20 months and expects to be completed by 1QFY18. As of to date, the outstanding orderbook of RM 974m enable the group sustains its revenue visibility over 1.74 year or 1.74 times of FY15 revenue.

Gadang results v good. At eps of 17 sens for 2q, if gadang can maintain same performance for next 2q, they share price should be worth at least rm2.70 based on multiple of 8x which is very conservative and taking into account of weak market sentiments. May look to do an update article on Gadang.
