Gadang started to move away from construction job, and into property development and renewable energy.

As well publishised by KYY, construction job has low profit margin and stiff competition.

It is a rather nice diversification move by TanSri Kok Ong.

Solar farm can provide a sustainable revenue income for the firm for as long as the sun shine.

Based on my reading the cost per MW for solar plant is about USD4.0 per MW. So, this project is about RM100 million. Good news, if it materialises into strong sustainable tariff (way better than one-off construction contracts). Another sustainable engine for growth?

Gadang according to some critics, smallish construction company. It smallness make it easy to face with business down time. KYY said bad time got high operating cost... but he forget Gadang is small... not like other big construction co. no project or low margin project will quickly dried up the company...
