Smartag's quarterly result just came up, very early. This is because there is again no business done the last quarter. Preparing of its financial statement was very easy. Never mind, still have one year's cash reserve to burn.
Another quarter of losses; another disappointment! Smartag should be renamed Stupidtag. Those who think that the stock will go above RM1 is staying in an ivory tower. Why is Custom not implementing the mandatory use of RFID? Is it because RFID is too efficient, so much so, that corruption and other kinds of cheating will be hard hit once RFID is used. Or is it because RFID is useless and cannot be used. Management of Smartag owes an explanation to its shareholders.

Ben, this is called thinking out-of-the-box. Very creative. The answer is clear. Good one.
RFID is very efficient to detect any corruption. All goods will be scan. Nothing is left not scan. If all goods going through custom can be counted accurately in a few minutes, then how Taukeh can bribe custom officer to let a big portion of goods not scan??? Then, with no chance of corruption, RFID will be buried or freeze forever.
The RFID tag has proven its effectiveness based on the trial run. Testimony from the logistics company who took part in the exercise were positive. There was a video that was shown on this in youtube. Customs dept has requested for this implementation to be postponed. But cannot postpone for long since this is part of the country's ETP plan to be made mandatory.
The report state the company making loss because they intended to let people sell the share and the some1 can buy the share at cheap price and "goreng"

This might be an old news... Announcement made in 31 May 2013...
Smartag has signed an agreement with Celcom to in relation to the provision of mobile payment cloud service which interconnects Celcom AirCash to worldwide merchants enabling Celcom prepaid and postpaid subscribers, both present and future, who have their AirCash account with Celcom (“Subscribers”), to pay for goods purchased online via their AirCash account (the “Services”) based on the terms and conditions as stipulated in the Agreement.
Now waiting for the annoucement, if all the terminal is confirm must using RFID for export and import the price confirm will shot up to 70 cents within 1 months.
there have been confirm that the westport have sign a agreement with the smartag to using the RFID technology, and it will be announce in the next two week.
that rumour circulated since last year, to be honest!
the main thing is waiting for Customs to get its system to integrate that of Smartag's. Customs wants accurate collection from their own system but typically bureaucratically slow!
