I think the prosperity tax won't happen again next year. As the dividends from Petronas will be much higher next year due to high oil price and no need to give so much financial aid liao..

Based on annual. Deductions will be made every month using CP204 form. It is a bit complicated for me to explain if you have no experience in this field. The estimation of current YA will not be much difference than last year. So all payments will be divided by 12 months and each month will have to remit to LHDN.

INARI FY2022 estimated PAT will be around 300-400M. Extra tax amount will be 18-27M.

From account perspective, not all it's subsidiaries are exceeding 100M, then can minus them out from there to avoid this 1-time tax. Do bear in mind some of it's subsidiaries are enjoying tax incentive. So the impact should not be that bad, comparing to FSI, plantation & glove sectors.

Worst case, just treat it as 1-time tax from Govt, donation for post COVID-19. Cheers.

In our view, the introduction of “Prosperous Tax” should have minimal impact on Malaysian OSAT like Inari-Amertron and Malaysian Pacific Industries (MPI). They still have pioneer tax exemption benefits that will last till 2023 for Inari and 2025 for MPI. However, Unisem could be the most affected by the potential increase in effective tax rate. We estimate the potential increase in tax expense could reduce Unisem’s 2022F EPS by 8-9%.We estimate Unisem derive 40%-45% of its earnings from Malaysian operation. Meanwhile we see muted impact towards Malaysian Automated Test Equipment (ATE) manufacturers given the lower earnings base, below the RM100m threshold set by the government. Overall, the Malaysian OSAT and Automated Test Equipment sector enjoys a relatively lower effective tax rate (vs. statutory tax rate).

You are right.

Some of Inari subsidiaries have pioneer status.

As per latest annual report 2020, 73.8% of tax to be paid are exempted as it falls under pioneer status.

Only 26.2% tax were paid at statutory of 24%.

Total = 116,000 sqm

Inari JV with China Fortune-Tech Capital Co Ltd (CFTC) to carry out outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) manufacturing and related businesses for the Chinese market has a new 1 million sqft or 93,000 sqm.


That is almost 80% of Inari entire production since inception.

We can almost be certain that revenue and profit after tax should grow at least another 80%.

Inari also looking into new high value areas such as IC design, materials, equipment, and IP services.
