Aiya, he everyday shout oil price goes up. He is one very happy person with oil price up. This morning when I pumped petrol...WTF, WTF, WTF, price went up. When I turned on computer, WTF,WTF,WTF UMWOG price did not go up!!!!

snwong, goodluck to u. Whilst it may indirectly helps that oil price goes up but more importantly, for UMWOG to go up, they have to be able to WINNNNN jobs at PROFITABLE rates. If oil goes up to USD100 but UMWOG can't win jobs at profitable rate then their share price would continue to slide. Meantime, Petronas has not announced any increase in Capex. Whilst some may argue that UMWOG is not financially distressed, one only need to look at their last qtr financial position and reflect on what happen with Perisai and Swiber notwithstanding that UMW Holding is the parent co.My 2 sen worth.

but my view is that its gonna win some major contracts (most probably from Petronas) within the next one year & it may be the saviour.

With crude oil on the uptrend, umwog may have the chance to offload some oil rigs to pare down its borrowings

Hopefully u are right on the obtaining of major contract. U r definitely right on the "nice tradeable" part. EPF slowly selling and price goes down a bit. Then some news on oil price, price goes up. Until announcement of major contract win, looks like it is going to ding-down a few sen meantime!!!

correctly spelled out on risk factors on all oil counters today be it big or small
Many investors today are not in favor of oi counters..
if low oil price continues into 2017, it may not look good even for GLC
importantly (1) oil price MUST goes up (2) wining more contracts
As investors, we have our ways looking at today's oil counters from all angles.

Why is EPF selling at such low prices despite the fact that Khazanah is the biggest shareholder plus other GLC funds holding big chunk too? Any ideas/views

No points to sell when it reached capitulation stages (some investor give up already...just sell to stop the pains). It will rebound when new investor came in at this stages.

I don't own this stock.

EPF not giving up, just selling some shares everyday. There is no pain for EPF.
Also no other big investor will come, all the local funds are fully invested. Retail investors r not my concern, So my question is Why EPF is selling at these low prices?

most of the time, many take epf movement as proxy to stock price.
sometime, they come and go, even on the same day, for some stocks
i guess they hope for some capital gain too.
not surprise, when low, they will come back...

With crude & brent rally to highest level it is still unknown on the movement of stock which related to oil.Bear in mind with the strenghtening of dollar against all major currency price is depreciating due to FOREX...The correllation between USD vs Crude & Brent is a crucial results.We are trap I guess in this so called bulls
