Is going to be a long correction .. I'll stay away and wait till it comes back down to $1 to $1.05 - bc recent hike has gone up too much, dividend for mother is in feb/march,
Based on following formula & current mother's price RM2.61, the adjustment to warrant exercise price = 12 cents Exercise price will be adjusted down from 1.35 to 1.23.
Posted by moneySIFU > Nov 13, 2016 18:51 | Report Abuse 1.35 x [( 2.50 - 0.25 ) / 2.50 ] = 1.215 rounding up, the exercise price will be RM1.22
that's the formula to reflect a smaller entity after special dividend. adjustment cannot be made 1 on 1 because 25 sen is 9.5% of 2.62 but is 18.5% of 1.35
that's one of the major downside of investing in warrants when company is generous with dividend. at least special dividend there's adjustment on exercise price, normal dividend there isn't even any adjustment. but investing warrants you get higher leverage, so pros and cons. warrant premium might expand once all dust and settled, after all it's still an uptrend stock with 2.5 years to maturity
Warrant is always higher return with higher risk things. If it is warrant for public bank, better avoid, because public bank paying lots of dividends every year. But Ekovest has been paying quite a nominal dividends annually.
Special div is only thing happened once in the blue moon, you not even can see this kind of things happened elsewhere easily.
Jay is correct, when the dust has settled, warrant will be a good alternative tool to ride on the growth of Ekovest with 2.5 years to go.
Pursuant to the Share Split, up to 183,310,470 additional Warrants 2014/2019 will be issued and allotted to the holders of Warrants 2014/2019. The exact number of Additional Warrants to be issued and allotted will depend on the number of outstanding Warrants 2014/2019 as at the entitlement date of the Share Split. Any fractional number of additional Warrant 2014/2019 arising from the Share Split will be disregarded and will be dealt with in such manner as the Board of Directors of Ekovest in its absolute discretion deems fit or expedient and in the best interest of Ekovest. The existing exercise price of the Warrants 2014/2019 of RM1.35 each will be revised to RM1.20 each after the Special Dividend and then subsequently to RM0.48 each after the Share Split.
