We respect promoters who based their justifications on facts.
Not just blabber their mouth off.

SD is facing death by a 1000 cuts as more and more facts are surfacing.
Even if SD can muster up coupon soon (after all kaa Boom have been selling out in SD and related companies), the final cut will be in May 2022 on the repayment of USD222 mil.
Mr Najib has a better chance to escape his charges than SD surviving.

We are not promoting. Just being fair. We do not blindly follow the crowd. Only busy body paid by someone and apportunist are here to repeat the condemnation. Very small percentage of people make money in stock market. Reason being that they follow the crowd. Those make money are those who do not follow the crowd. Just like Alibaba, there are people who encourage sell and there are people who buy into it. Those who purchase now may reap many folds in future. Invest with what can hold and know the risk both ways. Busy body only distract investor. Worst is what they brought up is in the paper already.

I am no audit expert like you to read a book and call yourself an expert.

There is auditing standards which EY and KPMG will deploy and both have come to the same conclusion.
Also discrepancies on assets and liabilities will differ slightly with different method of ascertainment.
But this is not about methods used, IT IS ABOUT AUTHENCITY OF THE ASSETS AND LIABILITIES. Whether they actually exist.
To answer your question on why big discrepancies between EY and KMPG figures is because that SD did not cooperate with EY.
SO EY was unable to verify everything. In fact EY has to go to SC to verify some documents as SD did not want to give.

To address the lack of understanding of the SIR or an external audit (and its requirements), might I suggest a way to get everyone up to speed on the correct methodology.

I would recommend the ICAEW Auditing and Assurance Book. It is a highly informative book with practical experience on how to deal with audits.

More importantly, rather than drown everyone with technical information, this book explains and shows how auditing is done in specific areas.

So, for Serba Dinamik's case, areas of audit discrepancies were on Receivables/Payables, Assets and Stocks.

Its no nonsense explanations as to why these methods are employed will enlighten even the ignorant.

It would be very useful for those who have embarked on their own investigation/audit career or those wishing to pursue greater investing evaluation skills.

As they say, never turn a blind eye to new ideas/concepts/skills and never close the mind.

Learning never stops.

For serba, as long as audit report is not out there is uncertainty. Always remember guilty need to be proven. The analogy used is for uncertainty. Now the whole ordeal points toward the auditors, bursa and the edge being working together. As I have said auditor KPMG have scandal in the past and being sue and lost court case.
