Rubber Glove Exports Malaysia Statistics

The Department of Statistics (DoSM) just released the February 2021 monthly rubber statistics. You can find the summary of the statistics here. You can find the freely available statistical data here (you will need to log in).

Since March 2020, DoSM has been releasing brief information on the monthly values of rubber glove exports. Thanks to super_newbie who told me about the original source of the data, too. You can extract the data from here.

I have compiled the available data in the table below:

February 2021 5.845 +3.9%

The total increase in value of rubber glove exports between March 2020 and February 2021 is 226%. For the first two months of the current quarter of the year, the increase in value of exports is 28% as compared to the first 2 months of the previous calendar quarter (October-November 2020).

This data means nothing! It only shows supply value.

In fact MoM Change is dwindling.
The intermittent spike comes only on the 3rd or 4th month and immediately drops.

The value could be hiked based on demand due to profiteering.

But only fools will believe GLOVES is a remedy for Covid.
