“Nothing is free, even KC Chong from New Zealand spend time writing article for the sole purpose of educating everyone here ? Don't be silly , his objective is same as that of OTB , entice people to pay him to give him money so that he can invest like OTB”

Dear MoneyFace, thanks for your comment in one of the threads in i3investor today where you mentioned my name again. I am always happy to see my name being mentioned by you, just like the last time, when I specially dedicated an article for you titled “Dear Mr. moneyface88” in the link below.

http://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kcchongnz/78867.jsp

I hope you enjoyed reading it, and have looked into the comments posted by many people there. I want to thank you again for that.

Your above comments have a lot of truth in it. Let me illustrate what I mean.

“Nothing is free”. That is a golden truth in investing. You seem to follow one of my sifu named Joel Greenblatt who said,

The odds of anyone calling you on the phone with good investment advice are about the same as winning the Lotto without buying a ticket.”

I do hope my readers follow MoneyFace’s advice, oop, sorry, it is Joel Greenblatt advice that “nothing is free” when investing. Beware of people telling you to buy certain stocks, especially if these stocks have gone up a lot in price such that their prices have already exceeded the intrinsic value of the companies. Very good advice indeed.

Your next statement “even KC Chong from New Zealand spend time writing article for the sole purpose of educating everyone here? Don't be silly” is true too. Yes, it is not the sole purpose. It is actually quite clear as I always put a statement like this at the end of each article,

For those who are interested to learn about value investing to build long-term wealth slowly but surely, please contact me at ckc14invest@gmail.com

But if you take out the single word of “sole” in your sentence, it becomes

even KC Chong from New Zealand spend time writing article for the purpose of educating everyone here?”

It becomes a very beautiful sentence, isn’t it? Let me substantiate what I say by copy-and-paste some comments in i3investor whom I have never met before below:

Merry Christmas KCChong. Although I am not your online student but I treat your articles as a lesson for refreshing what I have learned in our places.

The last one above, I understand, is a super investor in Malaysia in his own right. I also particularly like the simple comment below, someone I think I have learnt a lot of things about investing from:

Keep writing KC, you wrote good articles.

I am not sure about these two gentlemen below:

I have a 55% overall portfolio gain (36% realized and 19% unrealised gain) for the year of 2015. I must say big thank you to you and you are true guru of all.
I am 99% confident that my portfolio have another 300-350% upside potential for 2016 where i recently has completed my portfolio restructuring. I am still sharpening my investment skill.
Looking forward to meet you in next year June during the KCChong Investor Club 1st Annual Retreat in Johore. Thanks and may you are blessed with all the good health and wealth.

@YiStock
I believe I am entitled to join also
I am a graduate of KCChong Business School
I attended his online course
But I quiet quiet never tell anybody

Are these two gentlemen my students? May be the first one, and the second one may be pulling our legs.

Yes, we had a retreat at Pulai spring organized by my course participants. It was fantastic to meet so many enthusistic young men and women there (and middle-aged ones too).

Dear MoneyFace, this article may have borrowed your name, but it is not about you. It is about those people who have read and showered good words as shown above, and of course also for my course participants. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for organizing this function with both FA and TA presentations. it was excellent with some corporate figures presenting their businesses so that we understand the business well for our investing. I still remember very well what Alvin Aw, MD of Thong Guan Industries said in his presentation,

“Who is this KCChong? I didn’t know he is so famous. I have never heard of him before”

I would also like to thank Terence, also a course participant, who have set up this “KCChong SmartInvestor Community Facebook” for the course participants. It is fantastic with so many wonderful sharing which you can’t find anywhere else. I would appeal to those former course participants who haven’t joined it, please do so.

Also thanks to Teh SK for setting up the whatsApp group for KCChong Investment Group, another great sharing. And there seems to be an initiative for a forum soon.

Mr MoneyFace, regarding your last statement, “his objective is same as that of OTB , entice people to pay him to give him money so that he can invest like OTB”

Enticing people “to join his course” should come before “entice people to pay him”. This is because people must get the benefit to “join” my course in order to “pay” me.

If you go back to the link which I have specially dedicated to you, Mr MoneyFace”, as below, you will understand how much time and effort I have put in to educate my course participants,

http://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kcchongnz/78867.jsp

So is there anything wrong for charging a fee? Before you answer this question, let’s hear what some of the course participants have said:

Posted by coolio > Oct 22, 2015 11:58 AM | Report Abuse
KC, please keep doing the good things you are doing now. I know you will just ignore those annoying sound out there, you know your quality.
I just want to take this opportunity to say thank you again because recently I have achieved 7 figure in my investing journey...hehehe.. Thanks for your investing methods, no 8 wonders in the world is really amazing!

An investment in Mr. Chong course provide me the ever best return.

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.... I've learned so much from your online course and I made quite some good profit with the knowledge that you taught me, thank you very much!

For those course participants who may not have made money this couple of years using value investing, do not get disillusioned and please be reminded of the saying below:

I just want to take advantage of prices away from value. If you do good valuation work and you are right, Mr. Market will pay you back.  In the short term, one to two years, the market is inefficient.  But in the long-term, the market has to get it right—it will pay you back in two to three years. Keep that in mind when you do your analysis. You don’t have to look at the next quarter, the next six months, if you do good valuation work—Mr. Market will pay you.”              -Joel Greenblatt

The last bit of your comment “so that he can invest like OTB”, of course has totally gone out of track.

I have written so far 220 articles in i3investor as shown in the link below, many more articles if I take account of those articles I wrote before I set up my own blog within i3investor.

klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kcchongnz/

Any reader would have known my investment philosophies, methodologies and strategies. They are totally different from OTB. I use FA, FA alone, and OTB use TA first, and FA comes in second.  I respect his way of doing investment and I hope he respect mine too. I don’t know why you can’t see that.

I hope anyone who hasn’t read my articles, do read them, as I strongly think that they are beneficiary, especially for those who are new to the market. Bestof all, they are free, yes totally free. And if you find those things useful, and you think you want to learn about them in more detail, please contact me at

ckc14invest@gmail.com

“Once you adopt a value-investment strategy, any other investment behavior starts to seem like gambling.”           -Seth Klarmen

Yeah, Mr MoneyFace, you are right. This article is not “for the sole purpose of educating everyone here”. It actually goes a step further to encourage you to spend more time, and a little money, to learn fundamental investing in more details.

“Nothing is free” as you have said. Especially for good things.

and one of those might lead to a market crash soon....even if a very good fundamental company will be dragged by this.....so what is your honest opinion about this?

To make good money in long run by paying a small fees for investment lessons is worth while. "小财不出, 大财怎么会进".
Further, when you pay for your investment lessons, I think you are serious and will pay full attention instead of Play-play only.
I still remembered when I learned charting about 18 years ago, I paid for $2000 for a day's lesson. Even though it was considered expensive but I told myself I might loose more if I didn't have technical knowledge for entry and exit.
Please treat investment as a business where Money and skill are equally important for money making.

Sounds very logical.

He teaches you the way to fish. If you go to a place where there is no fish, you shouldn't blame him that you didn't get any fish. On the other hand, when there are fish around, you probably will catch more and better fish than others. Note the term "Probably".

Trust me, without paying mr chong you already learn much more than you pay him. In forum, he shared case studies directly, if you understand you would, if not even you pay him is wasted money. My intention of paying mr. chong is a good will, compensate of his time spending to share here.

If you grateful like I do, do "donation" to mr. chong, you might feel better than paying him for the course.

GlobalValueInvestor,

I am glad you learn a lot by just reading my articles. It makes me feel proud.

However, I think you are the exception. Few can understand the case studies I presented like you do as most retail stock market players do not have much knowledge of fundamentals in investing.

My course aims to teach them from the basic and also goes into in-depth knowledge about FA. It is done in a structured manner. But again on individual; not how smart they are, but how committed they are in spending some time to learn about it.

It is my passion to do that. I have done okay in investing. I do not need donation.

Its a small amount to pay for KC investment lessons. He spend time to prepare his lessons. I am a satisfied student and by forming a Facebook group we continue to benefit from the sharing.
