As much as I do not like to wash dirty linen in public, I have to write this article. Why should Mr Ooi Teck Bee get so angry with me? As both of us are trying to help ourselves and investors make more money from the stock market, I wish to clear our misunderstanding.
Mr Ooi must remember that everyone is entitled to his opinion. You have your opinion and I have my won opinion.
About 1 year ago, when I posted my article about my cut loss sale of Jaks, to spike me, Mr Ooi has been promoting Jaks in his weekly recommendation for Jaks for more than a year. He even named it Miss Universe Jaks. Since then, Jaks has been plunging as shown on the price chart below.
About 6 months ago, when I posted my article about my sale of Supermax, Mr Ooi wrote a very nasty email to scold me because he continued sending out his weekly buy recommendations. The only reason for my sale of Supermax was of an oversupply of gloves and the glove price was dropping rapidly. All the existing glove manufacturers have increased their production lines and also constructed new factories. Moreover, more than 10 listed companies which are traditionally not in the glove business have branched off to make gloves. As a result, there was a huge oversupply of gloves and glove price was dropping. I have an old friend who confirmed that glove price was dropping rapidly. He is a professional glove trader. He buys gloves for sale in Europe. Supermax price has been dropping continuously as shown on the chart below.
About 2 months ago, I sold all my stock holding to cash out of the stock market and I posted my article to explain why I got out of the stock market because of the number of Covid 19 cases was surging and the government issued MCO lockdown order which has been depressing all the listed stock prices.
Mr Ooi wrote another nasty email to scold me because he constantly sending out his buy recommendations.
Mr Ooi’s weekly circulars is only buy recommendations. In the last many years, I have not seen Mr Ooi sent out sale recommendations. As all investors should know that the share price of any stock will go up or drop not only due to financial result but also due to market sentiments. Mr Ooi should know that and when that happens Mr Ooi should send out sale recommendation.
Mr Ooi has been promoting steel stocks especially Hiap Teck. About 2 months ago, I posted my articles to explain why I sold all my stock holdings because the number of Covid 19 cases was surging and the government issued mandatory MCO lockdown which would affect all the steel producers. Mr Ooi wrote another nasty email to scold me.
A few days ago, when I posted my articles to explain why I started buying back Hiap Teck at cheaper prices, again Mr Ooi was so angry with me. If I was in front of him, he would have punched my face.
When I saw Hiap Teck has dropped to a strong support level I started buy back Hiap Teck at cheaper prices. That simple means that all the fearful Hiap Teck shareholders including myself would have sold all their holdings. Currently investors have discounted all the ill effect of Covid 19 pandemic and our political uncertainty. When I posted my article to explain why I started buying Hiap Teck, again MR Ooi was so angry with me.
If you look at Hiap Teck price chart carefully, you can understand when I sold and when I started buying Hiap Teck. You can see Hiap Teck price chart below.
Why the steel price is shooting up?
China has been the biggest steel producer and exporter in the world. Currently, China wants to improve its air quality and environment. China is now producing just enough steel for its own use and stopped exporting steel. As a result, the price of steel has gone up from US$ 500 to US$ 1,825 per ton, about 300% in the last 1 year, as shown on the price chart below.
Since China has stopped buying iron ore from Australia the iron ore price has plunged sharply as shown on the iron ore price chart below. This will benefit all the steel producers especially Hiap Teck because the raw material is cheaper and the finished product steel price is rising so rapidly.
Mr Ooi is entitled to his opinion and I also entitled to my opinion. I trust Mr Ooi can understand my reasons for selling and buying of stocks as I explained above.

the most basic, the most fundamental issue is.......steel got demand meh? bad debts among steel players will kill them already if nothing else will. The more they sell, the worse it becomes.

the whole country is suffering, stock punters go and punt steel stocks as if nothing is happening, no covid, no one is suffering.
stock punters live in their own little world.

steel counters and hard assets like steel manufacturers are the worse place to put money.
a lot of local funds with a lot of cash are finding it hard to invest logically and professionally on a value/ earnings PE basis. The traditional link is broken and systematic risk is high.
what remains is technology shares that still attract local funds to park their money that they have to invest.
hard assets like steel shares? this is only for stubborn people., unrealistic people, people divorced from reality.

soft assets remains investible because there are lots of stuffs can still hope.....and imagine....

After so many round of promotion, the price still hovering this level. Unless uncle pump in money, there wun be much upside but if uncle decide to leave the table, i wonder what happen, which eventually will happen.

haha. u managed people fund. When there is a good opportunity, you used your fund to buy first and use clients' funds to buy at higher price.
When things turn not quite right, you sold your shares first and sell your client shares at lower price.
I have heard lots of complaints from your OTB's client.

I don't blame you OTB. That what the normal fund managers will ro.
If the shares are so good, surely we use own money to buy first. Buy early means we buy at cheaper prices. Then, if we deploy our client money to buy the same shares, often at higher prices.
If it drops, we can use clients money to buy to support price. If things turn sour such as bad results, of course we will sell our own share first then followed by the shares owned by clients often at lower prices.
That's normal and ok because clients do not know this trick

So what if the price of glove drops and there's oversupply? Is there still strong demand for gloves today and in the future? Are companies like supermax still making good profits? They even make more than tech companies with a 30 to 40 times P/E, and yet glove companies P/E is only 3 to 4 times. Is the market making any sense? Market price is based on sentiment, not on the company's fundamental value.

1.) I never attack any person in any public forum.
2.) I never attack Mr Koon whether his buy/sell call is correct or not, but Mr Koon keeps on attacking me on my sell/buy call, this is not good.
3.) Mr Koon had done these attacks many times in I3investor.com and also his blog.
4.) Why is he so personal to attack me all the time ?

Look up on this guy Chris Voss. He says that people who explain too much is more likely the one lying.
1) I don't know if you are lying. But u certainly do respond like one.
2) Do you know what's the problem with people in their 80's? Like a product, end of life. Reminiscing their glory days and struggling to maintain control and influence. If you respond the way he wants, you are making him ur master. For all I know, he is actually grateful to you for giving him the attention he wants.
3) How do you know if a person has aged gracefully? He enjoys exchanging experiences. When engaged by a 20's. He will ask how's life of a 20's now and in return, he will share how a 20's 60 years ago like. Neither is better than the other. It's just different.
Spend sometime reflecting on your own emotion responding to each "attack". How do you feel? Do you feel good? How much time you waste feeling bad? There are just bad people out there that derive satisfaction from people's misery. I don't know about you. I have 60 years ahead of me. I don't plan to let anyone to make me feel bad nor giving them that satisfaction making me feel bad. All that i'm gonna do with people like that is IGNORE AND NOTHING.
Like how Michael O'Johnson continue to run herbal life ignoring Bill Ackman and his slander. At the end, Bill Ackman lost 1 Billion after few years shorting herbal life. As long as you are doing the right thing(assuming you are la ya), truth will prevail. Sooner or later.

Your statement is not true.
Market up or down will not affect me.
I know KC Chongnz through I3, I know Sslee through I3 and many others through I3.
We never have problem even stock market was crashed.
We use to talk or communicate with each other in good faith.
We never attack good friends in public forum even we know that the facts and figures posted in the article are wrong.
Mr Koon should value me more than anyone else in I3 because I help him the most.
He requested me for help, I never turn it down all the time even at wee hours.
Those attacks in the last 1 month were not the first time, He had done it many times in the past.
It is his ego problem.

KYY is my relative father in law's friend. He has been invited as a guest of honour sitting in host table at his children wedding dinner. I also happen to be there. This is the first time I saw KYY in person. I don't personally knew him but do admired what he has been achieved during his earlier day in term of wealth & career. Indeed it was a great achievement.
