On 5 March I posted my article namely “TDM is ridiculously undervalued” in which I pointed out that TDM has 44,247 ha of oil palm plantation and 4 Hospitals which have an open market value many times larger than its market capitalization.
I am obliged to give you this additional information so that you can make good investment decision.
In 2021 TDM lost Rm 32.2 million
In 2020 TDM lost Rm 14.2 million
In 2019 TDM lost Rm 79.5 million
In 2018 TDM lost Rm 76.4 million
Obviously TDM management team do not know how to manage oil palm plantation and hospitals operation.
I wanted to meet TDM management.
About 1 week ago, I wrote to the Executive Director and CFO of TDM to make an appointment for discussion. But I did not get a reply. I wanted to find out why the company had lost money in the last 4 years.
My opinion
The best way to benefit shareholders is to sell away some of the assets and distribute the sale proceeds as dividend. I do not think TDM will do that.
My article “TDM is ridiculously undervalued” might encourage investors to buy TDM shares because it is so much undervalued. My advice is never to buy any stock based on NTA.
Among all the stock selection criteria such as NTA, cash flow, healthy balance sheet, debt free etc, the most powerful catalyst that can push up share price is profit growth prospect which TDM does not have.
Since TDM does not have good profit growth prospect, you should not buy it as there are many other better plantation stocks such as Jaya Tiasa etc.

Hahaha... don't know what to say about this old man. Now he mentions Jtiasa.
With no offense to Jtiasa's investors , from my knowledge Jtiasa is also not the well managed plantation company. Its timber/plywood business also show poor performance in most years.
The better managed pure plantation companies are SOP, Hsplant, KMloong, MHC/Cepat, swkplant, KLK, Utd plant etc. Taann which is like Jtiasa having timber/plywood business is much more superior than Jtiasa.
Bplant is also more superior than Jtiasa.
