The case of Optimus the suicide guy........
I read again the case of Optimus, the suicide guy......in the Hengyuan forum yesterday....
Sad sad sad thing.......
- Optimus a once upon a time participant in i3 commited suicide apparently after losing a lot of money in the stock market.
- Often critic of OTB before commiting suicide.
- Apparently, just before commiting suicide he apologised for criticising OTB...according to the girl friend.
- our OTB still very unapologetic, still very strong in his views, still unmoved and stilll very arrogant.
Question.............
Did at any time, Optimus subscript to OTB services? If yes.....surely the subsciption had a big role in him having lost so much money that he commited suicide.....You cannot run away from this conclusion, if Optimus is his ex client.
Final Decision is Yours............in the weak emotional state just before commiting suicide surely you must allow for the fact he apologised to OTB because he had accepted responsibility for his losses instead of blaming OTB.
But Final Decision is Yours means what in the unbalanced Balanced of Power between Optimus and OTB? Final Decision is Yours means OTB is completely free of blame?.......In the asymetric relation between customer and OTB, what does Final Decision is Yours really mean?
Yes, I do think a person should be responsible for his own decisions.....but, if you try to underestimate the power the asymetric relationship between customer and OTB, you are also not being realistic.
Regulatory framework.....I am in favour of having better regulatory framework in business dealings of this nature.
I am not even clear a remisier is allowed to take on asset management business or to free lance as subscription writer. I am aware the SC Regulatory Department is responsible for issuing various kinds of licences , all under different sections of the Securities Industry Act.
ps.....and if Optimus was never a customer of OTB, then just ignore and consider this a theoritical and fictional discussion.

I don't think Optimus bought OTB's subscription.
If he did, he would not criticize so loudly, or lose so much money.
For 3-6 month or 1 year based trades. OTB's research is one of the best.
You'll only lose money if you stupid and go max margin. If you size your bets properly. You will be very happy with OTB over the last few years.
