Last time said wont retrench if possible and discourage customers from refunding tickets. Now downsizing is imminent. Seems like AA is really facing a hard time to just survive.

For me, I don't think it's dumb to sell TopGlove now after buying at cheap prices 10 years ago. You'd earned multi-baggers by selling now.
I think it's wise to transfer some of the profits earned from TopGlove into promising stocks selling at low prices now, which may become another multi-bagger in future. Price of glove stocks have risen too quickly and way higher than its fundamentals.
Following to Holland? I'm sure frequent visitors of i3investor would know who is the real person who's leading people to Holland many times in a year.
P.S. - I'm pretty sure Philip will come back at Calvintan and fire at all cylinders tomorrow.

The only 2 important takeaways:
A contrarian usually buys something that is so beaten up and overlooked that anyone who wants to sell would already have sold.
BUY LOW SELL HIGH IS BETTER THAN CHASE HIGH AND HOPE TO SELL HIGHER.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but if I'm not mistaken, the Constitution of the company has extended the year to 2025.
If it's really this year, many others would have jumped into ICAPITAL.BIZ BHD instead of glove stocks for a quick profit.
However, I believe in the long term record of its fund manager. Personally, I have set aside some money to be locked-up until the price reaches RM4. It would take many years though.

Very hard to resist the temptation of making a fast buck when glove stocks are making more money each day.
But what I tell myself is that, this kind of investment method is not for me.

My guess is that GENM would probably stop paying dividends for FY2020 to conserve cash. As mentioned earlier by some forumers, the next QR will be worse.
I have strong faith in GENM to recover, especially when the theme park is opened, but all that will definitely take a long time.

To me, this is the most puzzling stock in icapital.biz's portfolio. Yes, it is a profitable growth company, but I wonder how would insiders actively transacting their shares benefit shareholders?

To answer stkstudent,
It depends on your investment timeline & aim of buying stocks. How long do you plan to keep your stocks? Do you buy it for capital appreciation or dividends?
If you look at ICAP's past record, the fastest its share price & NAV doubles is around 3 years. Or if you are like some who bought in 2005 and never sold, 15 years to double the share price & NAV is 15 years.
Even with a 15 year time frame, the return is 6%+ average per year, WITHOUT LOSING any money. How many stocks have escaped unscathed since 2005?
Of course, ICAP's price has not gone up much in the previous 5 years, so the question again is, why did you buy the stock in the first place? One thing for sure, ICAP is not for goreng & quick returns. "icapital.biz Berhad exists for one simple reason: to allow long-term shareholders or more aptly called share owners, to benefit from value investing." Key words: Long-term, value investing.
Recently, I realised that TTB keeping cash & growing the NAV is like: A kungfu master who conserves 40% of his energy but still beats his competitors.

I also think that if one were a prudent investor, he/she would have cut loss when FLBerhad's business started deteriorating terribly in 2019, if one invests on a short term basis. If one were to hold long, the current price would not bother a long-only investor.
kcchongnz has never claimed to be a long-only investor or short-only investor. He only claims he practises value investing, mainly focusing on Joel Greenblatt style. He is more of an investing based on financial numbers person, as shown in his many articles.
It really is harsh to pick on his one stock that performed terribly from 2016-2020 when there are some other stocks that performed exceptionally like Padini in 2015-2018 which rose from RM1.50 to RM5.00.

Replying to Philip :
IMO, it wasn't an article to recommend a BUY to FLBerhad. I just think that kcchongnz uses that FLBerhad article to highlight the following:
"Some other questions you should ask and seek answers before investing in it are but not limited to the followings.
Are you a short-term trader looking for quick gains (and also quick loss), or a long-term investor aiming to build long-term wealth in a sustainable way?
How has been the financial performance of the core business of the company in the past, and what probably will happen in the future, after stripping off the one-time-off gain or loss such as that of foreign exchange, sales of assets, revaluation of asset etc.
How has been its return on capitals? How that return comes about, from high profit margin, asset turnover, or leverage?
How is its dividend history? How is it compared to alternate investment such bank deposit?
How is its balance sheet? Bear in mind this is important to assess the risk in investing, and the sustainability of dividend also depends on how much cash per share in its balance sheet.
How has been its cash flows, especially free cash flows? This is also hugely important for the sustainability of its dividend payment.
More importantly, is it selling a good price now in term of PE ratio, P/B, P/Cash flows, earnings before interest and tax versus its enterprise value etc.?
What about its cash yield?
What is its intrinsic value, and hence what is the margin of safety investing in it at this price now?"
If I'm not mistaken, FLBerhad seemed like a decent company in the years before 2016 with sustainable future with its rather consistent financials.

I don't think it is a good time to buy when we don't know when will the MCO end. Too high a risk for me.
But yes, maybe PM will announce at end Apr to end the MCO and that's when I plan to average down.

Salient points (continued):
-First one must have a clear mind the purpose of investing; is it: (a)To get rich quick, but subject to high risk (b) to build long-term wealth steadily, safely but surely
-The future is unpredictable, the pandemic can get worse (or better). Low stock price can go lower, much lower.
-Survival is the only road to riches.

Salient points:
-No one is certain how the covid-19 pandemic will finally play out. Have cash reserve which will last you for a long time.
-No need to get panic and run for the exit if you are in (1) above and if you have invested in good businesses.
-detach yourself from this short term “external” loss in this bear market and reduce stress.
-the stock market has gone through numerous crisis, it is always in the long-term uptrend.
-For those who has a lot of cash and thinly invested, it may be a good time to start nibbling; buy some good companies slowly. But don’t forget point no. 1 above.
