I think yours is perhaps the most well-explained and well-illustrated presentation on general stock investment mindset, though a bit long winded ;)

But i have to say i thoroughly enjoyed it. Like!

c3 looks to be most value for money as of now, and it has a maturity in 2014.

Namoyaki, why don't you create a new blog here and post all your translated articles into the blog. That way, we will be able to read all the English version articles from a separate blog here.

p/s: Also, with new blog post you can translate the post title, hence it is easier for us to know what to read from the post title..

hi andy118, i believe now you can enter your transactions into a portfolio and share it out, as I've seen others do it here. then we can all provide our comments and discuss it together.

Hey, how many of you switch brokerage accounts in the past? Personally I've switched from OSK to Hong Leong bank. The process was quite simple and fast, and HL bank paid the switching fees to transfer my stocks over.

I have to agree with many of you here that Hong Leong's support is really fast and good. It is worthy of its 5 stars rating here!

Previously I was also considering opening a new account with another broker because of its "lowest" fee. But since there are so many negative comments on them, I will hold back and stick to my current broker for now.

i guess it takes some courage for people to share their portfolio.. especially if there are some losing trades. but we are all human and do make bad decisions at times, so if we all just see it positively then sharing is indeed good for learning together..

Not bad and it seems like a realistic target. At least much better than FD and EPF rates.

Good luck to you!

most major and important announcements are after after the market closed. however i do observe that some general announcements are released at anytime during the day.

also, for companies that plan to release major announcement during the day, they may request for a trading halt for that day or session.

The worse thing is, when MAS was under-performing, its Directors were still receiving hefty bonuses. In the end the government just pumped in more money to them.

Another frantic day at the stock market today. Looks like many people are riding on the penny stocks rush. The top 10 most active stocks today are all penny stocks.

Do you buy penny stocks? Personally I think it is a hit-and-run strategy now, but you still need to be selective with the right stocks. Be careful not to get burn.

Festive stocks like GAB and CARLSBG usually do well during the festive quarters (Q4 - Christmas + New Year) & Q1 (Chinese New Year) of each year. I believe it is gearing up to rise until after CNY next year.

Dear newcomer, Collateral account is an account where you can trade up to a certain limit of the cash or share value in your account.

For example, if your cash balance is RM5000 and share value is RM8000 in your trading account, and your trading limit is 2xcash + 1xstock collateral, then your trading limit would be 2xRM5000 + 1xRM8000 = RM18000.

On the other hand, cash account is an account where your trading limit is only up to the cash balance in your account. In the example above, the trading limit would be RM5000.

The brokerage fees are usually lower for cash account compare to collateral account.

To i3investor admin, thanks for the great site. Personally i find some of the features in this website are unique and even better than those broker's or paid investment websites. For example, the Price Target page and the Portfolio page that auto refreshes the stock prices and portfolio value are great for casual investor like me.

I aspire to be a better investor and hopefully may be able to do it full time one day. I really look forward to the new features that you mentioned here.

Keladi - Potential Privatization Candidate?

Currently KELADI is holding about MYR70 mil cash without any debt. This is why it is able to produce good dividend yield to the shareholders. It's main development area is at Kedah & planning to shift the investment to Klang Valley & the purchase of land still in discussion stage.

With it's strong cash flow, it is able to generate better bottom line result with the new investment.

A key factor to consider is the land belong to the KELADI is still very much undervalued compared to the market value due to accounting standard requirement.

For example, there is a piece of land which is approximately 525 arces (freehold) with book value MYR19 millions. Its last revaluation date was in 1996. It is worth much higher now in 2011, but is not reflected in its financial report. If the appreciation in the value of the lands it owns is taken into account, KELADI will worth much more that its current value.

Why do the directors of the company keeping the company value low and not mark it up to realize its full value? A possibility is its major shareholders may like to privatize this company some day in the future. Keep a watch on this.

Please comment/feedback if you have other news on this stock.

Judging from the fact that most of the private hospitals are packed with people nowadays, I strongly believe that this is a stock that we can collect gradually (during price correction) as the long term prospects will be good.

That's too much for minimum fee! Are you trading through a remisier? For online trades the fee should be around 0.2 - 0.4%.

S&P has downgraded US debt, this has created panic in the markets. But the question is should we take S&P seriously when these credit rating agencies have proved that their understanding about economies is indeed poor.

Remember, it was the same S&P that gave AAA rating to mortgage backed securities in 2005-2007 and we all know what happened after that. So I guess one should take this and apply own judgement in the current situation. After all, Apple and Google have been making record earnings in the recent quarters.
