potenza10 Tan,

I think u should have time cut off on day trade. Certainly after saw DJIA rose so much yesterday night, rIch place his order at 6am in the morning with hoping today will be rally.

Thanks.
11/10/2013 10:22

potenza10 Let say 12midnight is the cut off time...just a suggestion.

Dear Mr Tan,
Please stick to 12 midnight cut off time. A good and fair suggestion by potenza10. Everyone must comply to this rule.

Thank you.
Ooi

recently our share market is dominated by the ace and speculative stocks, should those conservative contestants temporary change their investment strategy in order to win the race?

KW, changing rules in the midst of a competition is not appropriate. A I mentioned, a complete set of rules must be put in place before a contest begins (no offence meant). Of course those who are smart will put in their buy / sell orders in the morning (before trading starts) as they are able to take a cue from the performance of the US and Euro markets. So rather than amending the rules, I would suggest that the contestants submit their buy / sell orders rather than doing it at the end of the day after the trading session.

Let's see which strategy will prevail at the end of the competition. Having said that it's just a friendly contest with "paper' money involved only.

Mr Tan,
You have to make a decision, do you think it is a fair suggestion ? This suggestion does not affect all contestants. All are in same playing field and it is no advantage to anyone. I leave it to you to decide, I respect your final decision.
Thank you.

I do notice those bottom 5 participants have very weak knowledge in stock selections! They should not invest at all until they have sufficient knowledge in stock selections and proper timing! Stock market is not for those who don't know much or else loss a lot of money!

U got the point there. But you wont know you're right until you hit the return you want. When you dont hit the return you want, then you pick the wrong one. At the point of picking you wont know if it is right or wrong.

# The updated status as at the close of trading today (my apologies if there are any errors). With just 6 more trading days to go, barring any unforeseen circumstances Rich will likely consolidate his top position. However there should be a tussle for the 2nd and 3rd spots for those currently occupying 2nd to 6th placing (all with profit of more than 20K)

To all contestants, all the best in the final lap.

# Special Update - Expect an exciting finish.

With two more trading days to the end of the challenge competition, Ooi Teik Bee has propelled himself (with a strategic purchase in Hap Sen warrants) to the 2nd spot and closed the gap to less than RM 3,000, with every chance of snatching the title from Rich who has been leading (except on one instance) since the contest started.

Look forward to an exciting finishing in the final lap.

# The Final Stretch

With just one more trading day to go, OoiTB has further narrowed the gap and is now just RM2,000 behind Rich. So it all depends on the final day tomorrow. The race can't be more exciting - expect a neck to neck finish.

Gains at the close of today's trading.

Rcih - 49,896
OoiTB - 47,889

KW Tan - I may not have the time to compute the results tomorrow. Please do it if you do not see my posting by 8 pm. Thank you. Good effort to organise the challenge.
