for mbsb to move faster into full-fledge commercial banking, it should tap experienced human resources from the industry. relying on existing staff for transform ation will take years.

To improve on roe, it needs fee based income. Merely expanding revenue thro interest income require capital pump up to comply with capital adequacy requirement. Hence, rights issues, div reinventsment etc. Existing staff not train in international trade financing, they seems more familiar with personal loan, hp financing and housing loans. Selling takaful doesn't require capital injection, distributing unit trust also require relatively minimum capital. FX income can also boost profit.

One of lousiest banks in Malaysia. Who on earth wants to use mbsb? Dun follow blindly. He got 33mil dun mean the stock will go up. Look at their performance, revenue dun improve, how to make big money? I bet a lot of ppl never heard of this bank.

Comparing ECL of 1Q19 and 4Q18, the increase in ECL was mainly due to
i)Unfavourable forecast of forward looking macroeconomic factor applied to household sector portfolio which increased lifetime ECL for stage 2 impairment.

ii) Higher non-performing financing from household sector portfolio which increased ECL for stage 3 impairment.

iii) Higher ECL charge for Corporate customers in stage 1 and stage 2.

Comparing ECL of 1Q19 and 1Q18, the increase in ECL was due to 1Q18 recorded writeback as a result of staging improvement from stage 2 to stage 1.
