You must understand what is impairment loss and the accounting system.The 3 cent dividend is for the year 2019. to be approved at the coming AGM

The first quater report is from 1jan to 31 March and MCO just carry 13 days from 18 march to 31 March. The second quaterr from 1 April to 31jun. Then MCO last how many days? The second teport will release in july or august. Can MBSB loss again?

I think most banks and in fact most companies will max out the provision as market expect to be bad anyway which I think will be good for future results.

according the news as mbsb had lost profit because covid is common. the money out pay the interest for fixed deposit , wages and etc. can not get the interest ( as a income ) from client loan with 6 month

Point is MBSB have lots of bad debts three years ago and did bad debt write off continuously for two years to clean up its balance sheet. Now again impairment loss. This means very bad credit lending and management. All banks recorded 1Q profit though lower vs last Q. Only mbsb lost money. Alliance Bank also made 90m profit as announced today. Think 2 or 3Q loss will be worst om full impact of mco experienced.

I did invested in this Bank 3 years ago. I always called it a one Ringgit counter cos. shares prices always up and down at the the pivot of Rm1.00. They tried to merge with one of the good commercial bank but was rejected and latter managed to merged with an Arab Bank and turned into a Islamic Bank. This made no differences to MBSB, but turned them from good to bad. Why ?
They are GLC , so if you wise enough you should knew what is going wrong with them. Look at all GLCs, even how worst they performed, they can manage to give you some dividend. Why ? I think most of you should knew the reasons behind. BTW this is a plus point for investing in GLCs. Another plus point to invest in GLCs is ; the company will never bankrupt even they lost billions of Ringgits every qtrs.
It is a very sad story that they still remained as a minor local bank and poorly managed (financial results is an clear indicator). There is still a very big hole for them to patch up till end of 2021, if I am not wrong.
I used to watch them closely. When DJI is up they never go up but when DJI is down they will follow.

Est Q2 will be even worst and next dividend is expected to drop to 1.5% if still making some profits. To maintain DY of around 3%, price range 0.5+/-. Unless goreng by chief traders or bull continue to run. ST -ve.
