Epf holds abt 15% of PBB shares.
Epf trades PBB & othrs daily to make money.
Epf usually holds shares with potential.

PBB is 2nd largest mkt cap shares in Msia.
It is not by luck PBB got so successful & big.
PBB team work smart & hard to get to no. 2.
Their service is the best among banks.
Their risk ratios are lowest among banks.
I am confident PBB will deliver good res.

It would be naïve for anyone to assume that Teh did not plan for the passing-on of his block in Public Bank to his heirs.

Being a disciplined banker with an astounding vision and perseverance, he surely would have hired the best brains to deal with the matter.

He would have known that Bank Negara could give exemptions on a case-by-case basis.
The laws allow for the Minister of Finance to sign off exemptions upon the advice of Bank Negara.
The finance minister is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the prime minister.

RHB stays 'overweight' on banking sector, projecting 15.6% earnings growth in FY2023

RHB Investment Bank maintained its "overweight" call on the banking sector, after projecting a sector net profit growth of 15.6% in financial year 2023 (FY2023), compared with 7.6% last year, underpinned by tailwinds from rapid rate hikes and normalisation of credit cost.

It also expects banks to pay higher dividends this year, given sustained earnings accretion and resilient asset quality.

RHB said key earning drivers in 2023 include net interest margin (NIM) expansion, sustained loan growth, lower credit cost, and the normalisation of the effective tax rate post the one-off prosperity tax known as Cukai Makmur.

We expect banks’ FY2023 core fee income to rebound by 7.2% y-o-y, from the 8.3% drop in FY2022.

“The uplift would come from higher fees due to sustained loan growth, higher card spend, and a pickup in capital market income, as investor sentiment improves in the later part of 2023,” it added.

3) NIM/net int margin higher w int rate hike
4) Fully economy & bus 100% open
5) New govt, bus friendly, promote growth

Other than recession fears, bus and consumer loans and spending will acelerate and generate greater growth in rev and profitability for
Public Bank Bhd.

With this new and updated news, it is very unlikely to be pursuing 2 cos at the same time.

Furthermore, insurance and banking are both in the financial industry although in different sectors and segments serving different customers.

So, it is improbable and unlikely that it is interested in a takeover of PBB.
