KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 4): The KLCI rose today as trade volume and value across Bursa Malaysia closed up at all-time highs of 15.62 billion securities and RM10.45 billion respectively while shares of rubber glove manufacturers climbed to record peaks amid lingering Covid-19 pandemic concerns.

At 5pm, the KLCI finished up 3.33 points or 0.21% at 1,575.94. Bursa's top gainers included rubber glove manufacturers Supermax Corp Bhd and Top Glove Corp Bhd.

Among Bursa indices, the FBM ACE was the top percentage gainer after the gauge close up 5.27% followed by the healthcare and technology indices, which rose 4.79% and 3.33% respectively.

Another record today.

15.6bil in volume and 10.1bil in value

Average trading value for 1st half is around 3.19bil translating to EPS of 18.7sen
If can maintain throughout the year, annualised EPS of 37.4sen (PE 30x = RM11.22)

If average trading value to increase by 20% to around 3.96bil, EPS = 43sen (PE 30x = RM13)
If average trading value to increase by 40% to around 4.62bil, EPS = 50sen (PE 30x = RM15)

July has been a very good start to Q3, highest trading volume recorded on 20 July of 12.5bil. But August has started even better, we have seen 13-15bil.

Analyst have been quick to underestimate retail participation. But robust trading volume should be supported by short selling ban until year end and not forgetting, potential catalyst includes election flows and further rate cuts by the central bank.

Over the longer term, i do believe the Fed's unlimited QE to spill over to emerging markets including Malaysia, just like post GFC.

Please dont look at trading volume. Value traded is a better indication. All we need is average daily traded value of RM6billion and the banks will be forced to upgrade the tp for BURSA to RM15!

The main reason why Bursa daily transacted VAL is always at high side is bcoz:

Dec-2019 = TopGlove only RM5.00/share
Aug-2020 = TopGlove is RM25.00/share ( let say but actual is RM28)

So, 1 transacted VAL = 5x of last yr.
It apply to other glove, pharma and some goreng counters....

Unless market collapse totally like....

Guys, take a look at Bursa C35. Its negative now because someone queued and bought at higher price (I suspect la, coz this morning i saw the queue was at the opening price 0.67). But if we consider 360 as the correct opening price , it may go up tomorrow. Why?
Bursa C34 was released at 4 August, it did not move during the 1st day, 2nd day (5th August) it shoot up 80%.
Bursa C35 was released today (6th August). Assuming a similar pattern may happen, it is worth investing.
Confidence in Bursa? Bursa has been making good profit due to increase in trading during this period of time. Many new comers, oldtimers has been more active because of WFH. Yesterday all warrant was green, with C34 the newest warrant gaining a total 80% highest (including its gap up from 4th August->5th)
