KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 20 -- The production of crude palm oil is expected to return in earnest next year in both Malaysia and Indonesia, OCBC Treasury Research said.

With the Malaysian Palm Oil Board’s (MPOB) palm stocks returning above two million tonnes in the third quarter of 2022, it means prices are expected to remain supported through the first half of 2022, it said in its Commodity Outlook 2022.

“In addition, our expectations of higher soybean prices mean the palm complex is also expected to be lifted higher,” the research house said.

OCBC has forecast palm oil to be RM4,750 next year.

PUTRAJAYA (Jan 5): The palm oil industry, being the fourth largest contributor to the Malaysian economy, is expected to maintain its 2021 performance in 2022, backed by various marketing and promotional efforts to be conducted by the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities and its agencies.

As of November 2021, total exports of Malaysian palm oil and its derivatives stood at 22.14 million tonnes and due to high palm oil prices, total revenue increased by 40% to RM91.4 billion as compared to 2020. This morning Mabel's collection of BioFuel Plantation continue to rise..

This is a very good article that I encourage anyone thinking of investing in palm oil to read. It takes some of the fizz out of some claims made repeatedly on most palm oil threads.

The article reference is mainly from KLK CEO, Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian, who is not only a very experienced and highly regarded CEO by his peers but also a man of great character and integrity.

This very recent article is well worth a read to balance the pros and cons of KLK's palm oil holdings and the current palm oil industry hurdles in Malaysia, in my opinion.

Agreed, it is a good stock to buy and hold like most other well managed plantation counters.
KLK will make explosive earnings in FY 2022
KLK's realised CPO selling price for FY2011 ending Sept is only $3,211 due to substantial forward sales locked at lower prices.
For FY2022 (ie Oct 2021 to Sept 2022 period), the average realised CPO selling price is definately much higher the FY2021.
CPO Oct-Dec 2021 (FY2022 Q1 for KLK) is above $5,000
CPO Jan-Mac 2022 (FY2022 Q2 for KLK) will also be above $5,000
FCPO Feb to Dec 2022 is averaging $5,189 as at 7/2/2022.
should KLK continues to sell forward (which is necessary for big producers), the average realised CPO price for FY2022 will likely be exceeding $5,000 (compared to $3,211 for FY2021).
