513.14 million is no small change. It's more then many listed Co total market capitalisation(MC). Take Innoprise Plantations Berhad for example, total MC is 512 million!

Posted by UndukNgadau > 2021-05-22 13:41 | Report Abuse

Batu Kawan(KLK's mother) also paying 0.20 dividend. Because it bought Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhd (CCM) for over ½ a billion.

Posted by UndukNgadau > 2021-05-22 13:48 | Report Abuse

Honestly, if you are looking for high dividend, then go for UP(United Plantation). I'm going for high growth. So I'm with BKawan & KLK forever

Posted by UndukNgadau > 2021-05-23 10:47 | Report Abuse

& not forgetting, in FY2020, our KLK also bought 60% stake in PT Pinang Witmas Sejati (PWS) for RM341.55 million. That's a whopping RM854.67 million(with TSH plantation land buy 513.12M) in total

Yesterday’s FCPO selling pressure again was capped within the ongoing support of MYR3,845 and the 61.8% FR level. Selling pressure appears to be moderating at aforementioned level as we expect a recovery soon.

Buying interest continued to pick up over the past six days and we expect the FCPO to rebound, leading to further recovery soon.

Mabel expect FCPO consolidation is about to end...Uptrend still intact...

For those who decided to run, please run and take shelter at the Plantation. Come and join us at the plantation. Weather is beautiful and CPO is doing great. It's a great opportunity to feed 8 billion people across the planet.

As long as CPO is trading above RM 3,000 we can expect windfall profits for the coming quarter.. Currently CPO prices is at its best..

REMEMBER THE IMPORTANT STRATEGY BELOW LOH!

1.If KLK intend to maintained the listing status of IJMplant after takeover, it will be very bullish mah!
It may shoot passed Rm 3.20 takeover price mah, bcos u r actually a business partner of KLK at IJMPLANT with the same cost of Rm 3.20 OR BELOW mah!

2. If KLK do not want to maintain the listing status of IJMplant...it will be bullish too bcos, KLK would need to fork out more than Rm 3.20 to entice enough minority shareholders to qualify for privatizations, i think an offer price above rm 3.60 to Rm 4.00 is required if want complete privatization mah!

Thus it is bullish for IJMPLANT no matter how U assess mah!

THE POINT IS SAVVY INVESTORS ARE LOOKING AT A RETURN & EXCEED BEYOND THE GO OF RM 3.20 FOR IJMPLANT MAH!

Looking the Price KLK Offer to IJMPLANT is so so not that really attractive at Rm 3.20 mah...to be really attractive the offer price or Ijmplant share price need to go above rm 4.00 higher than previous historical high of rm 4.03 mah!

Posted by winterwolf > Jun 11, 2021 7:59 PM | Report Abuse

KLK is doing a MGO on the remaining shares in IJMPLNT, and further good news is it intends to maintain the listing status, unless other shareholders dump the shares on KLK that listing status cannot be maintained due to breach of listing requirement.

Looks like market does not take well with the acquisition.

Posted by UndukNgadau > 2021-06-16 00:19 | Report Abuse

I think it's because of Taiko Plantations Pte Ltd impending takeover of all KLK's Indonesian operations. Whereas, KLK will be holding onto Malaysian. Same too with IJMPlant Indonesian operations will be moving to Taiko Plantations portfolio. Remember this: https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/tsh-resources-sells-two-indonesian-plantation-units-klk-pay-debts

Posted by UndukNgadau > 2021-06-16 00:32 | Report Abuse

Taiko Plantations Pte Ltd(an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of KLK) IPO might be happening early of 2022. So maybe Market dislike the idea of Singapore IPO of Taiko Plantations Pte Ltd.

What an overpriced acquisition!!
Net Asset per share = 1.34; Usually plantation co's shares trade below NTA. To add to insult, the Co made losses for the last 2 years despite stratospheric CPO prices.

Complete rubbish of a co. This is the 2nd overpayment after its holding co paid a massive premium for CCM. Is there some kind of political mileage or some private backdoor arrangement in this charity?

Posted by Fabien _the efficient capital allocator > 2021-06-22 20:03 | Report Abuse

When CPO at its all time peak, of course you have to overpay if one needs to make any successful acquisition.

I disagree Fabien - you don't overpay. The market price already reflects this high CPO price & any prospective movements (per Efficient Market Hypothesis). In conclusion if you pay market price then it's a fair compensation for both parties. Maybe a slight premium to seal the deal.

Anyway the recent reports indicate that CPO prices are way off their peaks.

A segment of employers accused of human trafficking crimes were instead probed and charged under Malaysian immigration or labour laws, according to the US State Department Trafficking (TIP) in Persons 2021 report.

Malaysia was downgraded to Tier 3 - the lowest status which carries potential restrictions to US aid - after three years of being on the Tier 2 watchlist.

Believe gov will give the correct views as US is likely wrong, as we are on our way to a high income nation.

Although FCPO is trading near the critical resistance, buying interest remained elevated, thanks to
external boost from Soybean Oil. A stronger market structure was observed within a smaller timeframe, and we expect FCPO to test the upper resistance level ahead.

Looks like ESG is putting lot of weights on plantation stocks.

Obviously, US is playing on force labour issue to justify for their high premium price delta between soy oil and palm oil as we never see this force labour issues being so dramatize in the pass until lately; just like glove sector.

Sadly, many institutions and fund managers; including our local institutions are also singing along with this but neglecting the fact that:
1. Palm oil is the most efficient vegetable oil per hectare in the world. (8 times more efficient than soy oil, the major competitor for palm oil)
2. The recent published "Palm Oil - Global Market Trajectory & Analytics" report has indicated that palm oil market will be growing at 5% CAGR from 2020 to 2026.
3. Palm oil is most widely used vegetable oil ranging from all range of product in supermarkets due to its temperature stability.
4. Land used (allowed) for palm trees is plateauing with Malaysia limits at around 5.8 million Hectare and Indonesia at around 15 million hectare.
5. Climate change is not going away and there will continue to have volatile weather like extreme hot and dry weathers recently in Latin America and now in most of corn belt region in USA. These will seriously affecting the yield of soybeans and other vegetable oil such as corn and rapeseed as they are more sensitive to weather changes but not so for palm trees.

So, CPO price will continue to be at elevated level in the coming years as demand is growing and supply will be limited due to caps put up by both Malaysia and Indonesia governments on lands to be used for palm oil. As long as CPO price are at RM2200 and above, well managed plantations companies will be making profit.

Investing in plantation stocks needs a long term view that you just want to have better returns than your FD interest rate and relative stable capital fluctuations. So, good and consistent dividend yield shall be primary consideration and capital gain shall be secondary. At current price level, there are numbers of plantation stocks that gave you 7% to 9% dividend if you have bought it 10 months ago.

With this mindset, you will be able to slept at ease when you put your money in plantation stocks. :)

Happy investing and have nice weekend.
