Lecanemab causes brain to shrink even faster!

Lecanemab and other drugs that remove amyloid have another side effect that is more mysterious: They seem to cause the brain to shrink.

That concerns scientists including Thambisetty.

"Brain shrinkage represents disease progression," he says. "What is a little worrying to me is that these drugs might be worsening the degenerative process."

Alzheimer's itself causes the brain to shrink, a sign that neurons are dying. So Thambisetty expected Alzheimer's drugs to limit shrinkage, rather than accelerate it.

So did Dr. David Knopman of the Mayo Clinic. "It's moving in the wrong direction," he said during a panel at the Alzheimer's meeting.

Thambisetty wants Eisai to publish detailed information about the changes in brain volume that occurred during its study of lecanemab.

@DestinyL, rate of brain atrophy is one of the endpoint measurement in lucidity trial. This is the purest form of biomarker in a clinical trial compared to reduction of amyloid deposits. Patients taking HMTM can see slower rate of brain atrophy.

@MoneyMakers, that's is what you claim. Nobody can verify it. 99% of investors are unable to achieve a 15% gain in a year but 100% of Maybank investors would achieve over 25% gain in three years if they have not sold their shares.

Please note …..both maybank and Genting group unlikely to collapse! Maybank is not an investment bank per se like US and some western banks. Investment exposure is limited and complex product manufacturing is pretty much zero. Only risk is bad debts. But it has plenty of cushion and governance is pretty good. Genting group is also low risk from being bankrupt given it is diversification and attractive portfolio. So please do t waste time talkimg about failing…this is an investment forum focus on the positive side. Maybank is income stock and Genting has the potential for significant capital growth …in the medium term…assuming the owner does not dump shares.

Look at all the sister holdings pricing, valuations are not too far off from their respective fair valuations
