Low profit because of high depreciation and high interest cost. Good thing is depreciation is non cash item, which means Genting is generating high cash and they can use it to pay debt to reduce interest cost, sooner will pay higher dividend.

I guess reasonable progress in terms of revenue generation but the bottom line is impacted by interest on loan as well poor management of cost including CEO pay. The loan issue can be partially resolved by sale of property, monetising businesses or rights issue as opposed to private placement. Unless these actions are taken profitability will remain subdued.

Re dividend..I rather Genting focus on improving its EPS, so that the price recovers. Until EPS grows there will be no uplift in price. They need use cash genrated to reduce interest payment. They did pay not high dividend due to boss not needing the extra cash flow probably for tax reasons!😀This is an issue with large shareholder who runs business as family business as opposed to running for the Shareholders. Their presentations and market up dates awful or simply don’t done, CFO is not active etc etc….that’s why it is stuck for some time.

Genting shares has small traders who continuously sell on small movememtw. I am beginning to think it is dead stock …until there is catalyst like, big sale of properties or businesses or listing ….or Drug approval! Otherwise the management are sleeping with no incentive do anything this happens when CEO is the highest paid despite poor strategy and governance! Need professional management….like in US companies.

GB is no more gem like it used to be.
Look back over last 12 yrs stock price.
Dropping & declining trend.

Yes, it has open up GS & RWLV.
Only GS is raking in profits quickly.
RWLV is saddled with GIANT costs.
Take years before it can contribute BIG.

CEO GB salary over RM100+ M
CEO GS salary over RM50+ M
Combined salary way past RM 150 + M

This affects bottom line, P&L, net profit.
This affects stock price.
This affects dividend amount given.

Expansion requires $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Can't give more dividend as $ needed for expansion.

At the end only owners benefit as this is a LONG-TERM business.
Their children/nxt Gen will reap the harvest of this gigantic expansion.

Retailers hold less than 5 yrs will see little.

Unless you are very good, buy/sell short term.

RGB share price crashing badly as investigated by SPRM for possibility linked to non-halal gambling political funds were used in last General Election. M not sure if other gambling businesses such as genting, Toto, magnum involving in such activities or not. That’s why market funds desperately pull out from Genting!

Keep blaming green wave …some in this forum blamed talibination …..as the reason for Genting underperformance. The fact is some guys don’t want to swallow the truth and look for excuses! The simple truth is Genting is company with legacy mind set very old archaic thinking …with incompetent overpaid CEO who does not know how to revive the company. We have examples of many better CEO’s in Malaysia….but recognised by bias , racists basically of their capability eg CEO of CIMB who has turned the company around. Where as Genting this family owned dinosaur of a company needs new blood and professional CEO to take charge ….perhaps from the west to bring governance and cost control and shafting of shareholders!
