Aiyo please dont be so critical la. Such sports events are usually major money losing events. Olympics at Athens, Greece still end up in financial mess.

Youth Olympics held in Singapore some years ago was widely criticised for massive budget over-run. That event cost SGD hundreds of millions but brought in little economic benefit. These days Singapore Tourism Board much smarter to target F1, Taylor Swift etc that can really bring in tourism money.
