Calvin,you have to stop promote bjcorp if this company not backup his value and profits sharing since everything change. Maybe he will bring huge profits,but with this way of concept, nobody dare to touch . More you promote, more investors get trapped. So many years ready a shop, land,building,even goods prices all folded increase, but bjcorp at bottom compared issued price rm1.

This follows his acquisition of 80 million shares in BAssets - which owns and manages Berjaya Times Square - boosting his stake to 10.09% or 120 million shares, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Monday.

The acquisition, which was done via direct transaction on Wednesday last week, is valued at RM93.6mil based on that day’s closing price of RM1.17. The counter closed 2 sen lower at RM1.13 on Monday.

In Johor Baru, BAssets owns Berjaya Waterfront Hotel, Shopping Complex and Ferry Terminal as well as office units at Menara MSC Cyberport.


Through its wholly owned subsidiary Berjaya Assets Food Sdn Bhd, BAssets has a licence agreement with Greyhound Café Co Ltd for exclusive rights to establish and operate restaurants under the trademark Greyhound Café in Malaysia.

The first Greyhound Café is located at ANSA Kuala Lumpur and the second restaurant was recently opened in Mid Valley Megamall Kuala Lumpur.

BAssets’ largest shareholder, Tan Sri Vincent Tan, said in a media statement that the Johor ruler’s increase in BAssets stake reflected his positive outlook for BAssets’ long-term prospects.

“His Majesty’s stature as the second largest substantial shareholder definitely augurs well for BAssets in the expansion of its businesses,” Tan said.

Sultan Ibrahim has gradually increased his shareholding in 7-Eleven Malaysia after he emerged as a substantial shareholder in the operator of the country’s largest convenience store chain with an 8.44% stake.

Actually, based on BJCorp's most recent quarter report, its debt is not much.

Long term borrowing 3,137.5 million
Short term borrowing 3,004 million

Deposit with financial institutions 723.8 million
Cash and bank balances 994.7 million

Net borrowing excluding irredeemable convertible loan stocks is 4,423 million

Meanwhile, BJLand has a net borrowing of 2,965.9 million

Long term borrowing 1,819.4 million
Short term borrowing 1,924.8 million

Cash and bank balances 778.3 million

Excluding BJLand's debt, BJCorp's net debt is only 1,457.1 millions. Meanwhile, BJCorp has a net asset (516.2 - 184 = 332.2 million) held as assets of disposal. That would mean BJCorp's net debt should be only 1.1 billion, which is close to what Ritz-Carlton Residences' gross development value.

Meanwhile, while BJLand has a net borrowing of 2,965.9 millions, it stands to collect 600+ millions from the disposal of China property project and a court case pending claim on Jeju project development project. What's more, I suppose BJLand's net debt includes BJToto's net debt of 700.5 million (523.5 + 601.3 - 424.3)

Hard to understand why's BJCorp still not able to recover from its business operation. Start to wonder if Cosway is that bad a deal?!?
