Hope the world will pressure Russia and put an end to Putin's reign and bloody bloodshed in Ukraine.

Stock Investment Rule No1: If you don't want to lose money you should buy shares of companies that are good at taking care of customers and not shares that only know how to take a deep plunge. That is why market price of SIA is approximately S$10 per share but other is RM$0.20.

M H 17 - My condolence.

MAS price behaviour seems to indicate well under-control by the 'HAND(S)', tight-range (5 bits),magnitude like the 1st day of MH370 (16th May 0.185 to 0.21) with a difference :- the early signs of bullish divergence.

This calamity seems to be heaven-send to the "MAS white-knight"
of bargain(cheap) accumulation of panic-stricken unwinding (or selling back) to the HAND(s) before the grand transfer of ownership from the UMNO government.

The BIG PUSH CHART of MAS is in tact and in fact "beautiful" to the corporate vulture.... (not to the panic-stricken retails).

stop toying around, Parliamen must step in now to immediately nationalize the airline and put air force personnel in charge . 2 tragedies already, military discipline must now be instilled if MAS is to have any future and the CEO must go , not a second too soon for being blind that his planes are flying in war zones with Russians missiles every where

Additional details on the divergence part: today's Slow-K (0.185 rising to 0.205) is 50 rising to 55 compared to that of 16th May (0.215 to 0.185 falling, and continued next day) of 3.

That's is the big difference. Whether there is a another 2nd-day (next mon 0.175 to 0.155) fall remain to be seem.

My conspiracy theory: Facts - so many Russians Jews in Israel, holding various positions in the government or private sectors, rich and poor. Israel is ready to send their ground troops to Gaza...they've been building up for the past weeks. Imagine the international outcry or media scrutiny if they just go in. Conspiracy Theory: They need something much bigger to mask what's happening in Gaza....what bigger can a ground-to-air missile from the conflict zone hitting a civilian airliner with so many different nationalities on board. Can somebody in Israel with strong connection in Russia or conflict zone bribe someone there to pull the trigger? Very possible. The Outcome: MH17 got shot down, Israel send ground troops to Gaza...just check all the media in the world, almost ALL headlines is about the jetliner being shot down....the Israel offensive is just a minor news now. My 2 cents - no intend to offend anybody.

Should the rebels be held responsible to pay for the damages?

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 15:55 | Report Abuse

MAS is the victim in the case," said Tan Kam Meng, an analyst with TA Research. "It was not human error or negligence. I don't think this will affect travel sentiment."

Malaysian state investor Khazanah Nasional Bhd plans to take MAS private as the first step in a major restructuring of the airline, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters earlier this month. – Reuters

every analyst talks about privatisation for mas seems like a must now, that's the reason that mas shares rebounded pretty well from 18.5sen this morning :)

hopefully stupid UNION zip mouth over privatization issue.

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:02 | Report Abuse

who knows? may be, some nominees are already holding 10-20% of total mas shares issued. thus, only 10% or less still not acquired???? just a guess :)

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:04 | Report Abuse

I think the offer price should be between 40sen and 60sen , otherwise, the long term minority shareholders wont agree :)

Posted by leslieroycarter > 2014-07-18 16:06 | Report Abuse

but some said khazanah would like to take private ? The best part may be shares consolidation, like 10 shares into 1 share so as to reduce the nos of shares . Secondly to reduce staffing like other airlines doing. Cut costs and streamlining and avoid duplication of functions. Cull unproductive areas and workers . Instilled discipline and work ethics , boost moral and credibility and lastly collaboration with other airlines to have a synergistic effects.

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:15 | Report Abuse

actually, no need to consolidate the no of shares. par value is 10sen per share same as airasia....no point to keep mas as listed co now, more bad news, compliance, reporting, announcements, etc which could further tarnish its image/branding :)

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:16 | Report Abuse

investors are buying the shares hoping for privatisation, merger, take over. I don't see any other reasons :)

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:19 | Report Abuse

being delisted/privatised, less humiliation in the financial press, website, in Bloomberg, etc.... just remain low profile in the financial world till turnaround occurs like JAL

Posted by Yong Chun Wah > 2014-07-18 16:20 | Report Abuse

firefly, mas eng, terminal services can be spinned off after privatisation/take over/merger whichever happens

Posted by hunterhungry > 2014-07-18 16:33 | Report Abuse

Privatise can take many forms and speculative investors becareful not to gets ur hand burnt

Still, the airline is not in danger of shutting up shop. Whether or not a government bailout is on its way, "there's no question that Malaysia Airlines will continue to operate," Ross said.

Some independent experts did not agree.

Geoff Dell, an accident investigation and safety specialist at CQUniversity in Australia, said airlines had their own intelligence operations which should be making decisions in such situations.

"It's blatantly obvious they shouldn't have been anywhere near it," Dell, who was working as a senior safety manager for Qantas during the first Gulf War, said of Flight MH17.

"Any sort of unrest breaks out, civil wars or such, you change your flight path so that you don't have to go anywhere near it. Of course it comes at a cost, because you have to fly further."
