will send out below email tomorrow. Dear MR. MANOJ DEVADASAN General Counsel / Company Secretary / Manager-Human Resources/Compliance Office Shahidah Aris Senior Legal Advisor/Assistant Company Secretary
I refer Petron Malaysia holding company: Petron Corp Q3 financial result
Year-on-year prices of Dubai grew by 59% to $95.6/bbl in 1Q 2022 vs. $60.0/bbl in the same period last year, due to the continued geopolitical tensions surrounding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and a further draw in US crude and distillate inventories added to the price support. Ytd- March 2022 product cracks improved with strong demand as supply tightens. Q12022 Prices of Dubai crude $ 95.6/bbl Gasoline cracks increased from $7.1/bbl in 1Q 2021 to $17.8/bbl in 1Q 2022. Diesel cracks from $5.8/bbl to $21.6/bbl. kero-jet cracks from $3.3/bbl to $16.2/bbl.
Year-on-year prices of Dubai grew by 60.4% to $101.8/bbl in 1H 2021 vs. $63.5/bbl in the same period last year, as supply concerns continue resulting from the ongoing geopolitical conflicts amid recovering global demand. 1H 2022 product cracks also reached record-high level Q2. Average refining cracks of gasoline cracks increased from $8.5/bbl in 1H 2021 to $26.4/bbl in 1H 2022, diesel cracks from $6.4/bbl to $36.6/bbl, and kero-jet cracks from $3.9/bbl to $27.7/bbl. Q2 2022 Prices of Dubai crude $ (101.8X2- 95.6) = 108 Gasoline cracks $ (26.4X2-17.8) = 35 Diesel cracks $ (36.6X2-21.6) = 51.6 Kero-jet cracks $(27.7X2-16.2) = 39.2
Dubai prices grew by 51.3% to $100.2/bbl as of ytd-September vs. $66.2/bbl in the same period last year, as supplies remained tight because of the sanctions on Russian oil after its invasion of Ukraine. Ytd-September 2022 product cracks have also been elevated with gasoline cracks increasing from $9.6/bbl in the same period last year to $22.0/bbl, diesel cracks from $6.9/bbl to $38.1/bbl, and kero-jet cracks from $4.4/bbl to $29.3/bbl. Q3 2022 Prices of Dubai crude $ (101.2X3- 95.6-108) = 100.3 Gasoline cracks $ (22X3-17.8-35) = 13.2 Diesel cracks $ (38.1X3-21.6-51.6) = 41.1 Kero-jet cracks $(29.3X3-16.2-39.2) = 32.5
From Q3 end 30 Sept 2022 Net income attributable to non-controlling interest: 95 million Peso Petron Corp owned 73.4% Petron Malaysia hence Petron Malaysia net income is 95/0.266 = 357.14 million Peso; On 30th Sept 2022 MYR to Philippine Peso was 12.6426. Q3 Petron Malaysia net income: RM 357.14/12.6426 = 28.25 million. Q2 Petron Malaysia net income: RM 183.479 million Q1 Petron Malaysia net income: RM 106.377 million
I am very disappointed with the projected Petron Malaysia Q3 net income of RM 28.25 million (from Petron Corp Q3 financial result) when Petron Malaysia petrol stations should be doing very well and Q3 refining crack spread as of below should also bring in the refiner profit. I just can’t understand how Q3 net income is lower than Q1 net income? Gasoline cracks $ (22X3-17.8-35) = 13.2 Diesel cracks $ (38.1X3-21.6-51.6) = 41.1 Kero-jet cracks $(29.3X3-16.2-39.2) = 32.
The 20.747 views can only mean the investing public have very high expectations on Petron Malaysia Business and profitable moving forward. I believe the Petron Board will meet in the next few days before the Petron Malaysia Q3 result is released to the public. It is my hope the Board will consider to give investors’ briefings to Kenanga IB analyst and the briefing minutes published at Petron Malaysia website
I just can’t understand how Q3 net income is lower than Q1 net income? lol.............what u see is what u get.................................................................
I just can’t understand how Q3 net income is lower than Q1 net income? lol.............what u see is what u get................................................................. there are many factors, not just what sslee/ probability posting in i3.
So what you see is what you get. With Q3 gasoline, diesel and kero-jet crack sptead as above, you can make an intelligent guess what will be HRC a pure refinery Q3 profit.
Diesel & Jet Fuel crack assumed averages going forward 30 USD/brl (not difficult considering it had averaged 43 USD/brl last 6 months)
Gross margin from Diesel & Jet Fuel alone:
= (10.5 million barrels/qtr x 50% yield) x (30 USD/brl) x (MYR 4.64/USD) = 730 million MYR ....
PBT = 650 million PAT = 494 million EPS = 1.64 ..........
The above is assuming zero contribution from Gasoline which they had hedged at least 18 million barrels at about 10 USD/brl (good for 4 quarters output, i.e at 3.6 million barrels gasoline per qtr at 35% yield).
This is the advantage HY has over other refineries while having almost zero output of Fuel Oil (at negative crack spread) as complex refiner
SUNGAI BULOH: Barisan Nasional candidate Khairy Jamaluddin says the turnout for his campaign to become Sungai Buloh’s next MP shows that the people can expect winds of change in their constituency.
“After a week of campaigning, I am very happy with the turnout in Sungai Buloh. This is an indication that there will be winds of change in Sungai Buloh.
“I have fallen in love with Sungai Buloh and can’t wait to become the MP. If possible, I want to start serving the people of Sungai Buloh today,” he said during a meet-the-people rally here today.
He said he expected the voters in Sungai Buloh to elect him as their new MP. The constituency has been represented by R Sivarasa (Pakatan Harapan-PKR) since 2018.
“I have already worked very hard as the health minister and I pledge to work very hard in Sungai Buloh as well. Please do not ‘waste’ the opportunity when I have been given the chance to stand as a candidate here, for the sake of progress and development. You need someone to fight for you,” he said to applause.
The Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency has 160,000 voters, made up of Malays (65%), Chinese (21%), Indians (10%) and 2% others.
BN treasurer-general Hishammuddin Hussein, who was at the rally, referred to Khairy as a “game changer” sent to Sungai Buloh by BN, to bring about changes and to attract young voters.
“We need a ‘game changer’ especially in the political world. If we remain ‘stagnant’, there will be no changes and the people, especially the youths, will be tired due to the lack of progress and will lose interest in the current developments,” he said.
Hishammuddin said Khairy’s dedication as health minister proved his capabilities in tackling tough assignments when the country was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cantik post market Buffolo ctr Ular holding ada limited up 14% only. Takda Limit up. Dunno malam nanti can limit up or not. Yesterday Ular swing another round again. Managed to get lower price again. Haiyoh. Correct?
Agree with i3 lurker:Crack rates are just wild guesses to revenues, usually wrong guesses
A better way to guess revenue as below: Q2 HRC financial report: The product prices during 2Q 2022 and YTD 2022 improved from an average price of USD75 per barrel and USD71 per barrel for the corresponding periods in 2021 to USD151 per barrel and USD133 per barrel respectively
Sale of oil products - Refined RM 6,892,976,000 - Crude oil 1,184,000
Revenue is sales volume X average products price Q2 average products price USD 151 per barrel.
From Petron Corp: Q2 2022 Prices of Dubai crude $ (101.8X2- 95.6) = 108 Gasoline cracks $ (26.4X2-17.8) = 35 Diesel cracks $ (36.6X2-21.6) = 51.6 Kero-jet cracks $(27.7X2-16.2) = 39.2 You can work out the products (gasoline, diesel and kero-jet) selling price and then the % sell in gasoline, diesel and kero-jet to get an average product price of USD 151/bbl.
Then use Q3 information below to work out Q3 product average selling price. Q3 2022 Prices of Dubai crude $ (101.2X3- 95.6-108) = 100.3 Gasoline cracks $ (22X3-17.8-35) = 13.2 Diesel cracks $ (38.1X3-21.6-51.6) = 41.1 Kero-jet cracks $(29.3X3-16.2-39.2) = 32.5
In Bagan Datuk, pockets of discontent leave Zahid vulnerable as giantkiller visits
BAGAN DATUK, Nov 15 — As the seat of Umno president and former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Bagan Datuk would be expected to be an impenetrable bastion to rival parties and would-be challengers.
However, two of the last three elections have shown there were chinks in Zahid’s armour, with the Barisan Nasional chairman winning with just over 2,000 votes in these.
When Malay Mail arrived on a Monday afternoon at the heart of the district, Bagan Datuk town appeared lethargic, with sound of the scant traffic easily overpowered by birdsong.
Dominated by an empty square and a clock tower that no longer told the time, little else stood out about town save for a beautiful waterfront and a blue-roofed mosque that appeared as though rising up from the sea.
The Giant Killer can kill Cao Cao or not. If can the KJ will have better chance to cleanse Umno leh. DSAI in Cao Cao constituency ceramah maybe can help KJ to kill Cao Cao leh. Haiyoh. Correct?
With new leader like KJ mana tau can reform Umno leh. Let KJ try first lah. If can why not. Better than dont try at all mah. Umno still a very strong party with many hardcore supporters one leh. Haiyoh. Correct?
From Q3 end 30 Sept 2022 Net income attributable to non-controlling interest: Philippine Peso 95 million Petron Corp owned 73.4% Petron Malaysia hence Petron Malaysia net income is 95/0.266 = 357.14 million Peso; On 30th Sept 2022 MYR to Philippine Peso was 12.6426. Q3 Petron Malaysia net income: RM 357.14/12.6426 = 28.25 million, EPS 11sen only
