OFFICIAL: Singapore government generalized HSR KL-Singapore project has been cancelled and the country will demand compensation from us.

Among the official reasons given by Malaysia why to cancel is Covid.

Previously, the PH government used to pay RM45 million to Singapore because it delayed the project to the end of 2020.

This time's compensation to Singapore is estimated at least RM310 million.

Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR project to be replaced with MHSR Kuala Lumpur-Johor Bahru project.

First, YTL strength has got nothing to do with HSR. If got HSR yes then a bonus to shoot to rm2 in 2021, no nevermind, they are expected to recover back to RM1-1.20 purely due to recovery in the construction sector 2021.
Secondly, if you read properly HSR from KL to SG is terminated. Doesn't mean HSR will not proceed, only the initial agreement KL to SG is cancelled. Think about it.

If this news is announced at the time YTL has gone up to Rm2.00, then it will definitely koyak comes next monday.

YTL now at 0.760 - haha near all time low means this current price has never factored in the HSR.

abang_misai is correct. Share price is at all time low still, if it's priced in HSR news then it should be near RM2 levels. And besides, think about this even when HSR is announced, it will take years before construction work begins for the profit to rake in from there.


Cement rebates are to receive a haircut soon, more profit to come from cement division. Any existing and upcoming infra works will be a boon to YTL even if they are not directly involved.

The 9bil Gemas-JB awarded way back to them is ahead of schedule too. Nothing to worry la. It's not as if all the holders of YTL are goreng artist so much so that the share price would crash like other small cap speculative counters.

There's more to come that I cannot disclose

If it drops, then my gang will just mop it up lo, no biggie.

Anticipation of msci rebalancing was the reason for the previous retracement towards 0.7 mark. There's not much roadblock ahead.

RM1 is still possible in the coming months.

Next qr is good enough to prop the share price up to RM1 even if it stays sideways till then even though it's unlikely to.

300m gain from disposing land to Tropicana + Cement + Utilities + recovering Hospitality from local holiday initiatives should be easily 1 bil for this financial year.

从来没有因为高铁起。现在跌条毛？看下每天的成交量啦。只有大型基金才能决定股价。一推傻嗨等着割肉，好像自己cut loss很专业这样。被人捡了便宜就有。ytl的生意早没有预算高铁。人家在英国 印尼的生意做到几大你都不知道。整天以为ytl＝hsr。正傻嗨。

rebalancing那天你知道谁买了几亿的票吗？散户啊你以为？基金经理不会因为可能有hsr而去买股票。只有投机的散户会为了一个不确定的消息去买。现在也只有投机的散户在怕。放假回来的基金经理心里暗笑等买。

YTL is still at all time low. Other counters increased 20-30%. Still more room to grow for YTL. Next QR is very impressive. Recovery of construction sector will boost the cement demand . Next year is election year, construction will be the trend.
Mid to long term, YTL is still a good pick.

there's no need to entertain the comments in klsescreener tbh. Most of the fear mongerers don't even hold the shares. If you don't hold the shares, then guess what you can't sell. If you are thinking IDSS then you have to understand how short selling works, you're borrowing shares to sell now to buy back later.

What does that mean? More people short sell, more will also buy from them at this price as it's very undervalued for the upcoming developments still. So that means more liquidity, which means it's even likely for the shares to go up faster. So I don't think anyone would short sell, since it'll cost huge losses when the company and other funds inevitably buys back a bunch on Monday.
