CSC is one of the best steel company at current price of RM1.77. June comes and dividend is 14 sen and equates to a dividend yield of 7.9 %. 3 months to go to get 7.9 % which annualize to 31.6 % yield. This is the only steel company that does not borrow a single sen. CSC will continue to generate good margins as prices for hot rolled coils and cold rolled coils continue to remain firm. Steel companies' cost of material in house work on average costs (much lower than current cost) and compared to current replacement cost at high level will continue to contribute excess margins for the next two Quarters. Steel companies have raw material and finished goods to cover at least the next three months. CSC does not have to bear any finance cost and this is very positive to its net margin. Companies' Acts 2016 introduced no par value for shares and CSC's share premium will have to be loaded back to its nominal share value within 24 months, CSC's current par value is high at RM1 per share and I will not be surprised CSC split its shares in the near future or issue bonus shares. This is due to market price trading significantly below net asset value. This is a very blue company compared to many steel companies.
If compared with FD paid by bank.. this CSCSTEL dividen still higher than we put money in the bank..but the only frustrated people is the share price keep dropping. Maybe we come in too fast..the exdate is very long way to go...need to top up every 10c down. ..hahaha
Thanks Chanyut Sappinit, mean as long as I buy before the exdate then I will entitle for the 14 cents dividend right? Will monitor hope it won't drop further thanks
But I think no need too rush..don't do the same mistake as me..I came in to early..and I'm struggle inside...Maybe end of April should be good or wait till 1.6???
The Board of Directors of CSC Steel Holdings Berhad (the "Company") wishes to announce that it would be seeking authorisation from its shareholders for the Proposal in conjunction with the Special Business at the Thirteenth Annual General Meeting of the Company, to be convened on a date which would be announced later.
Thanks @didi2005 for updating. ..hope it will be good news..bull is running but CScStl is sleeping. .so bad bad the price is drop and drop..maybe good opportunity to buy more
Didi2005, C. Sappinit, I think the company is referring to getting shareholders consensus to buy back its own shares at desired price level to protect & prevent share price from falling further.

Did you know the share price will adjusted down by RM0.14 after the dividend ex-date?
If you want to calculate this way, let me introduce you a new method, you can earn 2844% in share market, better than all money game, hands down.
How to execute?
Just buy every company 1 day before ex-date. Then your yield could be easily >1000%.
For eg, you buy CSC 1 day before Ex Date, with dividend yield of 7.9% p.a, its 31.6% per 3 months, 94.8% per month and 2844% per day based on your logic.
C.Sappinit, in a way it is good as the company is protecting the share price from (unfairly) going further down. At 17 March closing of 1.76 (less 0.14 sen ~ 1.62), investors are getting a nice discount to its NTA 2.1878. Protecting share price is protecting shareholders interest.
From another angle, the share buyback hints that the company's financial condition is healthy - strong cash reserves. The company has to sustain the price for about three over months when it goes ex-date.
Negatively, if the share is allowed by the market to determine, its true value may be badly bashed up and distorted. The company loses, shareholders lose too.
Don't worry too much about the present 'noises' of its share price dropping. One must remember that CSCSTEL is a cyclical stock so it is natural to undergo occasional 'dips' in the course of its business cycle.
There's a saying, 'one shallow does not make a summer and reversedly, 'one bad summer does mean that there won't be any more shallows in other summer. '(emphasis, mine)
The important thing is, how has the company been performing over the past years? Has its performance been consistent? What's the financial health of the company - its gearing ratio, management efficiency, cash reserves, etc.
I think the price will continue to see-saw for quite some time before it fires up with a rally. The problem lies with the company fixing the ex-date so far forward at 25 June. That's about more than two months. Around these months of Jan - March many companies are releasing quarterly reports and attractive dividends which compete for investors money.
If investors know that the fundamentals of the company are good, they will come to the counter. Human pyschology works in strange ways that people tend to buy earnestly when the dateline nears.
Don't try to trick, I have never bought any shares that KYY was in & I will never get into any shares that KYY is having. If he is to get into any company that I have, I will sell high to me.
no, I did not delete any thing.....In fact I sold soon after Company announces sale from Treasury shares...and company was evasive when asked direct questions.
