Oil is bearish near term. Now US got 12 million bpd of shale. OPEC and Russia will go to price war again, very soon. You will see USD50 / barrel very soon, then USD40, USD30 and probably USD20 eventually.

Don't see me normally LELEFEFE, I am still an economist. Keke!

Despite that, market is really weak and getting weaker. Don't expect airfare and load factors to be high in the coming quarters.

Elon Musk said Ford won't survive the next financial crisis. I Well, SIA, Cathay may survive, but they got to shrink to survive.

In fact the oil industry, in this stage, is more like the final cash milk out because the new power source is "allowing" to be commercialized in near future.

You just study a bit how Saudi Arabia movement, then you will know something. When the oil is irreplaceable, you can see their behaviour. However, for this 1-2 years, their so called King need to pay their visit all around the world. Because they like? or they need? Think about that.

To monitize the physical assets may not be a wrong move which eliminate the heavy borrowings subject to interest rate and forex movement exposure.

Look at Agoda.com, Booking.com, if you always travel and stay hotel, they not owned the physical assets and its associated heaving borrowings. But they are entitle 15%-25% commission on the room rate, it is 15-25% of revenue instead of profit.

Maybe digitalization of business is a bit too far for investor. But apparently, AirAsia Group now having "not bad future" plus "cashpile of RM5billion-RM6billion or equivalent to RM1.20 per shares" plus "major shareholders also have aligned interests to optimise the share price".
