so thats how dividend stock plays...but aa is not only a dividend stock..it is also a growth stock...so during this 10 yrs there bound to hav highs n lows...that how they play...sell high buy n low again to lock in capital gain by increasaing shareholding..

koyee, if compare dividend payout and share price adjustment, let say you bought at 3.04 and the share price remain 2.64. The 40 sens you earn from dividend is pure cash and do not charge for any additional fee (sometime only incurred tax)

If you buy 2.64 sell 3.04, you will earn lesser compared to the dividend payout. Hope you understand.

And usually, dividend is for long term holder. Unlikely there are traders to aim for dividend because it is quite risky.

with a 40 sen dividend is huge amount naturally it will be price adjusted...its still a reward for long term holder which dividend suppose to works...long term holder per share cost is much lower ..imagine those bbought at 50 sen pershare n hold til now...lol...if u by last wk n hop to be rewarded then its unfair to long term holder...lol

end of month with 1.23 billion distributed to holders..lets say 50% used it to reinvest in aa share which is highly possible due to coming sd...thats a 600 million with rm 3 = 200 million share waiting to be bought in the market..thats a 20 days shares volume...so its very possbile the share will move bak up to rm3...

short term wise confirm you see dividend is nothing.

But long term holder (3 years above) will benefit from it very much.

Imagine you have bought AAGB 10 years ago (RM1) and hold until now. the dividend payout is likely to be above 1 ringgit (1 year avg 10 sens) this is easily 100 % gain from your investment, even though tmr the share price is RM1.

now let say another situation. same 10 years scenario. you bought RM1, and the stock go up to a peak of RM5 at 5th year and then come down back to RM 1. Throughout this 10 years there is no dividend payout. This scenario, you earn nothing. your gain is still 0%.

So dividend payout is good especially for those investor who are not expert in timing entry and exit point and just like to hold to the stocks they believe will bring them good return.

koyee..2010 2.60 is the peak of the rally run for aa..from 50 sen to 2.60 ...nopw 2019...2.60 is the support for aa next rally run becoz aa is now matured and its now totally different from 2010...its going to be bigger better n leaner...ppl expecting a below rm2.00 for aa is wishful thinking...
