If you buy plane with your OWN money then ask airbus to sponsor your OWN sports team, there is no bribery.
BUT
if you buy plane using company money(shareholders money), then ask airbus to sponsor your own team, that's ethical not correct, because the sports team doesnt belong to AA. It belongs to 2 individuals.

Get your facts, straight....

if the F1 team does not belong to Tony...airbus will not be able to sponsor..AA cannot co-manage and get free publicity.....this f1 team is thought out to be a publicity entity and not a profit entity. u cannot do that on another F1 team..so its legally sound.

If the F1 team does not belong to TF, Airbus will not sponsor. Airbus stated that the sponsor was to please TF and seal the aircraft deal. Airbus cakap punya, ada faham?

under the law the person involved is not guilty n is eligible for legal defence. becoz it is settled out of court. all the proof are not defended. so alto airbus admit guilty.it doesnt means the party involved is guilty...if it so..DPA no need settle out of court.

airbus cannot reduce their price of plane so to entice AA to buy their plane..so they giv kickback in the publicity entity aka f1 team. they cannot do that on another f1 team..so it had to be tony's team. this f1 team is not profitable.so it is jus a tool for discount. AA gets the discount via free publicity.Airbus get back publicity too. Tony gets nothing on paper. ( he got siphone money out or not i dunno). So if u trrace the money..it benefited AA n airbus. Tony a middle man no money.

AA is public listed company and subjected to R&R. Receiving kickback or doing side deal without informing Bursa and shareholders is already wrong. TF might escape bribery but AA cannot escape punishment from Bursa...

Another way of reasoning... Airbus settled out of court bcos they knew they would lose in court.. So Airbus didn't want to prove its non guilty in court. So Airbus settled out of court which will cost less.

1. Again and again you mention Tony's team. That's why the problem.
2. F1 team not profitable, are you insane? They winning team makes tons of money, other teams make alot via sponsorships.
3. What you mean tony gets nothing. Tony gets everything, it's his team. How much out of the 200m tony spend of publicity, advertising and promotion and how much he kept back in the company will be scrutinised now. Whatever not spent from Airbus sponsorship is profit for shareholders.
4.The money that tony suppose to spend on this team is now sponsored by Airbus, because AA bought planes, not because tony bought the planes.

Ok I stop here. Otherwise the die hard AA fans will get upset.
