Not overly thrilled with the result but not disappointed either. Considering their revenue is lower than Top Glove, yet NP and NP Margin are so much higher. This QR is quite similar to June 2020 QR but dividend being paid out is satisfactory at 14.8sen vs 2.1sen then. Btw net profit of close to RM260million in one quarter is really fantastic. How much net profit they earn per day?!

Posted by Snowpiercer > 2022-02-08 14:39 | Report Abuse

Making RM200m a quarter still great in Msia standard but then the valuation now becomes expensive.

From NST

"In line with the company's commitment to enhancing shareholder value, the board declared a second interim dividend of 14.8 sen per share single tier for its financial year ending March 31, 2022.

Hartalega will pay the dividend on March 9, 2022."

JP Morgan's TP already RM4.00, which is absurd.

Hartalega net profit margin still the highest 25% and dividend declared 14 sen is good for long term investors...Share price now already close to pre pandemic price and any falls in share price will not be very severe

I believe many Harta shareholders have strong holding power. There won't be a selling tsunami, based on this QR alone.

I am on the same boat with @jolynce. such result is not remarkable but is still within expectation since we have already seen the results for Topglov 2 months ago. If people sell, so be it, I am planning to accumulate below RM5.

I am also interested in next QR (including Topglov). If price does stablised by March 2022. The next QR should report smaller profit, but a smaller decline in profit from this QR.

Posted by Pgraduate123 > 2022-02-08 16:26 | Report Abuse

Today, already deduct 17 sen from you.. Next month only pay you back 14.8 sen.. Something not right ya... Lol.... Still stuck at 14th floor, 12.8 floor, 10.7 floor, and 7.3 floor.

If Harta can drop to RM2-3 other glove counters like Top Glove will drop to RM1 and Supermax 50 sen only... Hartalega price now is already pre pandemic price

The way to hold this declining stock will surely make you miskin

These are the headwinds

1. Asp declined by 40% can still drop further

2. Drop due to fierce price war from China glove dumping

3. The Rm3 bil cash hoard only equals to a mere 80 sen per share

4. Worst to come
Harta has committed to invest Rm16 billion for glove expansion near Thai border

5. Very risky to hold anything above Rm3

Just believe in the management, they know what they are doing, short term share prices are just noises for the long term goals. If you only see negativity in the glove sector moving forward, then this counter may not be for you. For me, while pandemic may swing short term share prices for abnormal gains, minus the pandemic doesn't mean the company is shit. They have been growing steadily and the management said they can observe more future growth in glove demand.

Whatever negative things that we can see, the management can see too. So it is whether you believe in their ability to navigate it. From what I observe so far, they are still doing better than their peers, and even outperforming some other industries, so I believe them. :)

@calvntaneng it seems that we can agree to disagree on future events. You mention that ASP will further decline by 40%. Too steep and doesn't explain why all glove companies are expanding they capacity. I do not agree that there is a price war with China, and ASP remains elevated compared to pre-pandemic levels. The Rm3bil or RM5bil no matter how you see it, is a game changer considered that most glove companies are leveraged before the pandemic and are strapped for cash. One can do quite a lot with the money, like diversifying (i.e. cabuting) into other industries. On the other hand like you say they are continue to expand on gloves near the Thai border! Such a foolish long-term move if ASP is set to decline by 40% no?

This is why I keep holding on to my glove counters. I think they are undervalued. You may disagree and I may be wrong. Anyway I am not that foolish to go all 100% on glove, more like 25% with the rest in other sectors (banking, tech, consumer goods, gaming, even plantation lol). Even if all my glove counters goes hangus, I am not too worried, I made a wrong bet,... unless Bursa collapse. Then we are all screwed, no?

Also I find it very amusing that whenever glove price drop, all these monyets come out with insults lah and give all sorts of buying advices. Buy this goreng that! Price rising so fast, why you no chase after it larr! Aiyoyo I not on the computer 365 days 24-7 chasing after goreng kaunter, I got job and other things to do, by the time the kaunter over-goreng and drop 80% I also no realise lah. I rather put money in well-managed trustworthy companies and let it slowly kembang in the freezer.

After USA banned 7 glove companies from Malaysia now China is RAMPING UP GLOVE PRODUCTION

Don't look down on China as all the Glove Automatic machines used by Topglove, Harta, Supermax & Kossan were MADE IN CHINA

China's high speed bullet train now circumferencing the entire globe

Prepare to suffer more losses if still so stubborn

Intco from China definitely a real threat to our BiG4, with currently the 2nd largest glove producer within short period. But do not forget that our BiG4 are mostly OEM except Supermax, OBM as well for Intco and Bluesail China.

Most important for our BiG4 is the utilisation rate as ASP will definite normalizing within this year. Demand still on higher side. BiG4 require sometime to build order to replace smaller player.
