@bang_miskin cheers again, and yes, its been awhile since we can have so much fun in this counter's forum. Nevertheless, the correction day will come and they will come out to perform for a few days again. Getting a bit dull now though, same old script. Not going to shit my pants unless Harta goes to new low, that would drop my glasses (and kill my wallet).

By shaving ~30% of its production capacity, this should help to ease the prevailing excess capacity condition in the market. On the flip side, it could also suggest that global demand is still weak with large scale Malaysian producers likely to operate at low utilization rate going forward. Should global glove demand recovers, we believe Chinese producers will continue to dominate and garner greater market share given their cost competitiveness. Nevertheless, the discontinuation of older facility should lead to lower operating cost in the near term. As such, we maintain our FY24-25F net profit forecasts.

All the other glove manufacturers also need to close down some of their production lines. Do what the Arabs in OPEC do. Get together and reduce production and force up the price of oil. By closing down inefficient plants they also save money. It is a win win situation. Harta's loss this year is mainly due to a non cash written down of the old plant. It is only a book loss. They are still cash flow positive and the write down is also a tax deduction. In order to recover the patient needs to take the bitter medicine. Forget 2023 but Harta will emerge in a stronger position in 2024.

It is not a tax deduction because the scrap value @RM18 per kg exceeds the TWDV.
So the exercise becomes a tax gain and additional taxes need to be paid.
The exercise is cash flow negative.

i may be wrong, but it is my experience.
funny thing is though the buying pattern trend look favourable in short to mid-term, but i also don't dare to buy in..
check back one month later whether my experience is right or not,,

This add up to a dividend of 104 sen per share for the 2 years.

Today, Harta trades at RM 2.23 per share and faces a struggle in its business in the next 2 or more years.
