It shld warrant a rerating frm funds aftr having bought additional 49% (Now owns 100%) of Bank Islam turning BIMB into a pure Islamic banking play.; n it's the only banking stock that attaches a Warrant, if we could hold for 10 yrs, the returns would be many folds...

It is right time to buy more BIMB-wa now ,as funds have almost finish unloading theirs due to restrictions in their FUND DEEDs that prevent them from holding financial derivative instrument.

No Superfortunebull, OPR is the overnight prime rate set by BNM where banks borrows from other banks for immediate funds. If BNM announces an increase in the OPR rate ( most analysts predict 25bp ) then the cost of borrowing for banks will increase, thus will trigger a higher BLR i.e base lending rate a bank charges its customer. BLR will naturally move in tandem with OPR.

Take off very soon i reckon. Some borrowers very much impacted as most banks increase their rate. Many got stucked and have to increase their cost too thus people on the street will bear the increase in cost. BIMB benefited as some future borrowers will turn to Islamic Banking sectors as an alternative..just my 5cts thought..

EPF always let go and buy back, because they have to do that ,to ensure the gain is realized before they can distribute it to members as dividend as required by the Laws
