Gamuda wr entitle you to subscribe Gamuda new warrant at 25sen. These upcoming new Gamuda warrant will have conversion price RM 4.05.

Based on today closing price, gamuda at 4.43, gamuda wr at 25.5sen, which imply you have total cost for upcoming new warrant 25.5sen + 25sen = 50.5sen

Lets take into account conversion price 4.05, and current closing gamuda price 4.43, the upcoming new gamuda warrant with new 5 year lifespan only have ridiculous 1.8% premium.....too cheap to be true

You must use your wr as right for you to subscribe new gamuda warrant at 25sen. Imaging you bought 1 unit of wr today at 25.5sen and you pay 25sen to subscribe 1 unit warrant, then your total cost will be 50.5sen.

Based on today closing price, gamuda share price at 4.43, and gamuda conversion price at 4.05, and assume new gamuda warrant to be listed will fetch at least 15% premium, then these new warrant should worth at least RM 1.05

Therefore, you have potential to double up your profit..... 50.5sen cost vs new warrant listing price RM 1.05

Aiyoyo, why confuse!!, wr is a right that listed today and these wr will only trade for 5 days and only if you buy wr now, then only you have right to subscribe warrant at 25 sen, which in turn will be listed next. Based on 15 % premium for newly listed warrant with 5 year lifespan, these gamuda warrant should worth 1.05.

high risk buying gamuda WR esp the underlying has yet to drop much to reflect current bear mkt. If u count gamuda recent low of 3.70+...at 15% the warrant worth zero....In the past every bear mkt will see Gamuda drop 80-90% from peak....Current uptrend rose from 1.25-5.40+...so prepare for Gamuda drop below 2....

To calculate intrinsic value,

[(warrant price + conversion price) - underlying share price ] / underlying share price, multiplying 100 to get percentage, positive percentage indicate premium, while negative percentage indicate discount.

Normally, newly warrant with 5 year lifespan command higher premium, could range from 15% to as high 30%.

In gamuda case, the warrant conversion price is 4.05, and underlying share price is 4.43 and by tag minimum premium 15% for newly upcoming warrant listing, you will yield the fair warrant price at 1.05. The cost to get warrant is just 25 sen and buy a right to subscribe warrant at 25 sen, therefore, your total cost is merely 50.5sen vs potential warrant price 1.05 once it list in bursa.

If im not subcribe the warrant 25sen , will my wr bought today become 0.00 ?

Posted by fairytales > 2016-02-12 21:01 | Report Abuse

I bought gamuda-wr at 0.53 today (yes too high). Is it worth subscribe warrant at 0.25? I'm not quite understand how this works.

Posted by fairytales > 2016-02-12 21:05 | Report Abuse

After subscribe new warrant, is that mean I must convert to gamuda mother share???

hng33

Gamuda wr is a right for you to subscribe warrant at 25 sen, if you no intend to subscribe, then just sell back wr back to market, alternatively, you use wr as right to subcribe warrant and wait for these new warrant to list in bursa. As these new warrant have lifespan of 5 year, you can have any time within next 5 year to convert into gamuda by pay conversion price 4.05.

However, as for warrant, normally it offer cheaper price and leverage advantage to expose to underlying share. Therefore, warrant with long lifespan deserve to command fair premium price, range between 15 % to 30 %. Therefore, it must calculation above, I merely tag 15% premium, then warrant should worth RM 1.05 once it listed.

Gamuda management in actual are very clever to offer to sell warrant at 25 sen instead of offer free to shareholder, which allow gamuda to immediate raise fund, strengthen balance sheet without dilute its Earning to share

Ok ... Im fully understand now . Thanks for the precious info ..

Posted by fairytales > 2016-02-12 22:10 | Report Abuse

If I subscribe to the warrant, mean my warrant will cost me 0.53+0.25=0.78per unit? (I bought 30000 unit at 0.53 already). If I not convert to gamuda mother share, can I still trade the warrant as usual share till expiry??? If the warrant worth RM1.05 once listed, meaning I profit 1.05-0.78=0.27per unit? And how many units will I get for warrant? I got 30000 unit, then I need pay extra 30000x0.25?

Yes and upcoming gamuda warrant have 5 year lifespan, you have such long valid time to trade your warrant anytime and only must opt to convert at the end of 5 year. I unit of wr entitle to subcribe I unit of warrant at 25 sen. If market perform rational, wr may even move up to above 75 sen next week to match minimum 15% premium or at least 1.05 worth of upcoming warrant.

For big cap like Gamuda, I expect the warrant premium to be about 5% to 10%.

Agreed with hpcp.i think a 10% premium is reasonable for gamuda warrant.buy n keep it for long term.

Firehawk,at 0.255 closing price of wr,each shareholder can only make rm0.04+ since every 1 wa for every 6 shares held....u think they goreng mother shares from rm4 to rm4.6 to make rm0.04+?????

Hahaha, very funny lollll, purposely pump up gamuda from 4 to 4.60. !!??......since when gamuda trade at 4.00 ??

The lowest gamuda share price over 2 week was 4.40, the highest was 4.77. No doubt, gamuda indeed move up ahead of warrant right entitlement before the ex date and move down after warrant right listed. The highest degree of pumping up is 37sen, and you need 6 gamuda only entitle to get 1 warrant right at 25.5sen, so those pump up gamuda from 4.40 to 4.77 with cost 37 sen and need 6 x gamuda to get 1 warrant wr.......spent total cost 37 sen x 6 = RM 2.22 in order to selling warrant right at 25.5sen !?
