Najib reiterated that the Gamuda-MMC MRT2 Package was awarded to them in 2016 in an international open tender in which the company was among the five companies shortlisted and Gamuda-MMC managed to overcome rivals from two large Chinese companies, Hyundai Engineering from Korea and Taisei Corp from Japan.

Gamuda won with the best technical terms and the cheapest price.
