@titus If he has holding power, he can continue to hold, or listen to my warning earlier and cut loss at 2.45....but he continue to promote Gamuda hoping that other people will come and support the price....of course Gamuda will likely recover one day....but when is that day? definitely need to hold if believe in fundamental of the company but honestly quite difficult and not worth the wait....not worth the risk right now if not invested yet

@Victor Yong of course they won't delay it, but even if they continue with Gamuda it will only be because Gamuda offered very good discount by slashing their own margin....right now LGE has all the negotiating power....that's why the rebound will take long time....of course if CCCC come approach LGE then even worse for Gamuda, might lose the entire contract

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 9): Workers involved in the underground portion of the Mass Rapid Transit 2 (MRT2) project connecting Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya are uncertain about their future on the project.

Muadh Mohd Nazlee, one of the project engineers affected, said so far, MRT Corporation has not issued any official stop work order on the project.

“We do not know whether to proceed with our work or to stop. All we know is that we have to be prepared for the worst and that all of us will have to look for work somewhere else,” he told Bernama.

On Sunday, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the cabinet has decided to terminate MMC-Gamuda’s contract to build the underground portion of the MRT 2 project, adding that the unfinished work would be re-tendered via an international open tender process.

Lim said the decision was part of a cost-saving exercise as the government would save RMM5.22 billion, or 23 per cent of MRT 2’s construction cost.

However, MMC-Gamuda said about 20,000 personnel from a supply chain of over 600 Malaysian companies would lose their jobs following the termination, including over 3,000 employees of MMC-Gamuda’s joint-venture company, of whom more than 60 per cent are Bumiputeras.

Expressing hope that the government would reconsider the decision, Muadh said that it was completely unexpected.

“It is all too sudden, too fast. The announcement was made on Sunday and now, we are left hanging,” he said.

He also said the full-time workers are not the only ones affected, as those under the Tunnelling Training Academy (TTA) that was set up by MMC-Gamuda to train local talents to conduct high-skilled construction works are also affected.

“It is clear that everyone is worried about their future. They are hardworking people and all of TTA employees are locals.

“Imagine if we are scrapped from being the main contractor, will all the hard work done by them to build for the future be for nothing?” he asked.

whether to target syed mokhtar or not its another story, but press down gamuda for accumulation / acquiring seems positive

-Mind you all package cut was the UG package not everything. (not all is lost)
-Let the foreigners come in and build for us (very obvious who can do it at the price MOF wants)
-Swap all 20k malaysian to 20k foreigners ( permits = more profit)
-To bring down cost further, cut all malaysian supplier, import everything from a cheaper source.(tax ?)
-Hopefully there will be more input of foreign currency*face palm*
-Let all the small fry malaysian contractors die since MOF already not paying before election, why not drag longer for more people to bankrupt, more opportunity to buy a lot of stuff at discounted price
-Dont point the finger at LGE la, kesian him. we all know what he can or cannot do.
-Gamuda has already discounted for all the other parts, UG really hard to cut due to the cost involved. can google up for tunnel boring machine fyi, two units are being deployed at this UG project.

on this hand say protect Malaysian, on that hand say federal need to cut cost and ruin with Malaysia construction, Offer foreigner construction bidding (especially china)is tats Malaysian earn what??..what is the logic????is that cheaper construction = good quality and quantity and is tats will increase Malaysia jobs?? (like market aunts buy fish if your offer cheaper she wan cheaper +free)... you need cheaper, people sure give you cheaper item..construction is long term program when you "U" turn it influence much of position.(problem always happen after 5 or 10 year, if die people or flood i think that's is not link to.....)

we know Malaysia is high Liabilities in account to credit is much important "TALK".

I think better give chance to CCCC who is more competitive and the underground tunnel should be halt at this moment (too costly and no landscaping). Chop all the cronies who are very corrupted and parasite to current deficit. Swift all the manpower to build affordable house should table in budget 2019.

My view is that LGE failed as FM. He like to show off at media.
Worse part, he is pointing a gun at the contractors head when he negotiations.
Thats why most construction counters dive since he made the announcement.
