The selling force is absolutely coming. No future for this share. The company still think they are only one "best" Data speed & service. Once come to reality, What i experience the CS very rude. Data speed & coverage not as good as celcom. Say good bye to this NOKIA brother.

an insight fr CEO of Telonor
He was asked why a rival (Umobile) can offer packages cheaper than Digi. The CEO answered umobile is probably selling its products below cost. They may get more customers while their profit will not increase n ultimately they will suffer network congestion.

Frankly, in term of price, Maxis still offers the most expensive packages among the major telcos.
E.g.:-
MaxisOne98: RM98, Unlimited calls, 5GB(initially 1GB, now 5GB, based on Maxis's CEO announcement on last Friday),

U Mobile's Hero+ Postpaid: Rm70, Unlimited calls, 7GB+8GB Data(this extra 8GB allocation will be given until 30th JUN 2016 only);

Celcom's First Gold: RM80 , Unlimited calls, 5GB(all days)+5GB Data(weekend), max 5GB unused data can be carried forward;

Digi's Postpaid78: RM78, Unlimited calls, 7GB data, max 2GB unused data can be carried forward.

TM's Pi offering is said to be RM10 for 8GB. This is what I heard from those coffee shop talks.
Now, I am not investing in the telco sector. P1 is said to ride on Celcom's network. It means Celcom, Digi, Maxis, Umobile will soon lose its customers.

Well cooling, yr post is enlightening. Hoping maxis will tweet their package further. I am suffering from slow broadband speed using Digi even in the heart of the town. A year ago, I was unable to call from using my Digi line from ClubMed Bali but my room mate's line using Maxis has no problem.

I sold off TM last month for a small profit. Its price hardly move. It seems P1 is selling below cost for its new launch to get market share. In the short term, P1 does not contribute to TM's profit.

As for Maxis, Amanah Raya is the buyer. It would probably settle around 5.8 ++. Its network is still the best. Packages can be refined. The Edge today, ... the player that benefit most is Axiata.

For the time being, I am staying out of telcos.

I had used three majorTelco companies before but finally i ended in Maxis because I personally felt that Maxis was still the most reliable and speedy line to use..

As the the proposed upgraded plan is just for MaxisOne Plan, it will definitely upset the users who are engaged on iValue(normally for user of iPhone with contact, Surfmore and Talkmore'. If no action from Maxis, most probably these groups of users will leave Maxis after the contact expire. This impact will be another tsunami for Maxis.

Yes.. the port out is not really much impact to maxis but when webe coming... I afraid the impact is obvious and no way to run.

even ignore the port out user loss , the Post paid ARPU drop 5-10% due to the price competition also will make lower the total profit . since now maxis give more data , if the user from the MOP lower their monthly commitment package from 188 to 158, 158 to 128, 128 to 98 ?

Remember the Malaysian market is small.. once it lost the loyal customer, the market share will be impact. .. new customers? Majority are students and they will choice cheap with big data package offer by others telco

Posted by Alche Mist > 2016-04-12 18:04 | Report Abuse

Migrated to Celcom because the 10gb internet plan is way too cheaper compared with others. I can also carry forward the unfinished data too

Posted by Alche Mist > 2016-04-13 11:54 | Report Abuse

compared between celcom, celcom has the widest and strongest coverage but the charge rate is affordable just like the 10gb huge data + unlimited calls&sms only costs RM80 per month. if the data couldnt finish, it can bring forward to the next month. except of celcom, is there any telco also offer such good deals?

Ya, I used to use P1. My worst experience. Signed up and then they told me the tower in my area was always congested! What's the point of 'fast' data if connection is always dropping!

Your rivals could easily duplicate yr package n yr first mover advantage will not last long. Some ppl porting to other telcos but some using other telcos are porting to Maxis. It is highly competitive now.

Maxis weakness time, all gang bang this big giant Telco. Market share being chopped day by day, terminate Maxis account is a trend now. Maxis just like a shadow of BN. I hope the same thing happen on BN too. more customers change their mind... after being fooled by 20-30 years times.

Umobile really provide what customer NEED! postpaid data can use for roaming :- include Korea,Taiwan & HK & AUD....can MAXIS do it or not?

Junichiro

the question is will Maxis do it or not. not "can". After all these strategies can be easily duplicated by yr rivals. Another question, using Umobile line, can u make a call back home from Club Med, Bali? I can't do it using Digi. After this incident, I now know how cheap is cheap.

normal people will buy local simcard, unless you are Manager, CEO. My friend, he on business trip also buy local simcard, his company ask him save money. don't use roaming.

If we go overseas n buy the local sim card, the seller there will have all our details. I am sure when u buy sim card, the seller there will also require u to give away yr passport details. Is it??
