Analysts at Fitch Solutions Macro Research are sticking to their forecast for Brent crude to average $73 per barrel this year.
Analysts at Fitch Solutions Macro Research (FSMR) are sticking to their forecast for Brent crude to average $73 per barrel this year, a new report by the company has revealed.

“The market fundamentals have grown increasingly supportive, led by cutbacks on the supply side, but lingering concerns over the health of the global economy continue to drag on both sentiment and prices,” the analysts stated in the report, which was sent to Rigzone.

“Given price performance in the year to date, our forecast assumes an average of $76.2 per barrel for the rest of the year, which is strongly bullish compared to spot,” the analysts added.

$100 Oil? Drone Strikes Halt Half Of Saudi Crude Production

Drones attacked Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia and the Khurais oil field run by Saudi Aramco early Saturday morning, the kingdom's interior ministry said, sparking a massive fire at a crude processing plant essential to global oil supplies.

The closure will impact nearly 5 million barrels of crude processing per day, affecting 5 percent of the world's daily oil production. And while Aramco is confident that it can recover quickly, if it can't, however, the world could face a production shortage of as much 150MM barrels per month. An outcome which could send oil prices into the triple digits.

PETROLIAM Nasional Bhd (Petronas) yesterday reported a sharp 48% drop in third-quarter profit to RM7.42 billion as lower crude and gas prices, and impairment dragged the national oil company’s financials.

During the same quarter a year ago, the state-owned oil company posted a net profit of RM14.34 billion.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept 30, 2019 (3Q19), fell 14% to RM55.11 billion from RM63.91 billion due to slower demand for oil and gas as the global economy slowed due to the unending China-US trade war.

PETGAS's main business segments include natural gas processing, gas transportation, regasification and utilities.

Its earning performance has been overall steady in last five years, whereby its earning per share overall ranged from 87.9 sen to 100.4sen. PETGAS pays dividend consistently in the last five years, whereby dividend per share increased from 55 to 72 sen per share. In FY2018, total dividend paid to shareholders was 72 sen per share, amounting to a dividend yield of 4.36%. Currently the P/E ratio is ~18, which is not too high.
