Seems like they (Digi, Axiata and Maxis) are being punished for not taking up the 5g offer. However, they should bite the bullet and stick to their plans, otherwise there'll be no differentiation between them eg right now Digi has the highest speed.
Proposed merger hits roadblock! On behalf of the Board of Directors of Axiata, Maybank Investment Bank Berhad wishes to notify that subsequent to the announcement on 24 November 2021, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (“MCMC”) has issued to Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (“Digi Tel”) and Celcom a Statement of Issues (“SOI”) dated 1 April 2022 pursuant to the MCMC’s Guidelines on Mergers and Acquisitions (“Guidelines”). The SOI sets out the MCMC’s preliminary view on competition effects that could arise from the Proposed Merger, and invites Digi Tel and Celcom as applicants to submit comments, information and remedies on its assessment.
The MCMC in its SOI has informed that Digi Tel and Celcom will need to collectively address preliminary competition concerns across indicated market areas as below, and respond to possible remedy recommendations provided in the SOI.
The national retail market for mobile & low-speed fixed broadband and data services, including the related local distribution channel markets; The national retail market for mobile voice and Person-to-Person (P2P) messaging services, including the related local distribution channel market(s); The national wholesale market for mobile voice and P2P messaging services (including network sharing arrangements); and The national wholesale market for mobile broadband services (including network sharing arrangements).
Pathetic QR-ly results. Earnings are lower Q-o-Q and Y-o-Y by double figures. DPS is even worse. Need to go back to almost 10 years (2013) to find a lower dividend and that's not accounting for inflation. Unfortunately, there is no where end in sight. Currently, Digi is the worst performing stock in my portfolio this year.
Let's make Digi the next meme stock like GameStop and AMC. It seems that the drastic fall in prices is due to large disposal of shares by EPF over the month in the big 4 telcos. It's likely to be a move of retaliation for not being able to reach an agreement with the allocated shares under DNB.
tom77, the last time some dickhead doing that at TOPGLOVE. guess what? from rm5 dropped till rm1.40 the leader is making tonnes of money from them. another scammer.
How to say without 5G? They will surely bring in 5G, but signing up with DNB is not necessarily a good move. Not signing up doesn't mean it is bad. They are looking at the deal rationally.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
