Modi in cozying up to the US Trump’s administration is under the illusion that it can be proxy of the US to contain China is dangerous. it is better that India be honest in its own domestic economic and political problems compounded by the Covid19 virus. China already has that part of the virus under control and unwittingly fueled by US and it’s allies’ relentless attacked bred an increasingly Nationalistic population. it is a bad time for India to seek confrontation with China. they will have more to lose than gain even with US support. The US is now fast becoming a failed state and no longer trusted by most of the international community.

India's discriminatory new citizenship law and policies have spurred violence against Muslims and it's acts over Kashmir and repression, often using deadly force and the military, and closing down on the internet, dwarf any actions against Hong Kong protesters and rioters.
Perhaps this article might be more balanced if it reported those details.

Kingsley....And this border issue is yet another example of something left over from British colonial rule and the British Empire's actions then still resonating today. Apartheid was another consequence and many border disputes and the mast infamous being the Palestinian issue.
